Although BMW is pretty good at making highly reliable cars that experience very few mechanical issues, the BMW E92 M3 on the hampshirephoto YouTube channel opposes that standpoint. Unfortunately, Luke took to sharing his story of breaking down after just 100 miles of ownership, and here is what to watch out for when buying a BMW E92 M3.

A Disappointing Mechanical Issue On The M3

After the reveal video, which was the only one on the channel before this one, the BMW E92 M3 went awol due to breaking down after just 100 miles on the road. Although Luke, the current owner of the car, admits that the E92 M3 is an addictive ride, the issues, and repair work required certainly was a little disappointing.

The fault was due to a mechanical issue, which took the ride off of the road after just 100 miles of ownership. Even though the car is now fully fixed, there are some warnings that Luke mentions for anyone looking to purchase an E92 M3.

Two Faults To Watch Out For On The BMW

The first of the two issues for the BMW E92 M3 was its throttle actuators. In 2017, the car's actuators were brand new. Hence, Luke took to assuming that they would last their usual 40,000 miles. Yet, after seeing the coding work and realizing it wasn't due to the gears wearing down, he decided to contact the company and discovered that there was another issue. The second of the two issues was with the circuit board.

After the circuit board and throttle actuators saw some repair work, the car still wasn't ready. Thereafter, Luke took to replacing both units to resolve the issue.

Even still, Luke experiences a small bout of anxiety when he starts up the E92 M3. After completing a month's worth of repair work and experiencing lots of frustration, the E92 M3 has now taken to enjoying around 250 miles on the clock. Let's hope that there are no more faults that are out of Luke's control, as it seems, he absolutely adores driving this BMW.

Overall, it can be very frustrating to have mechanical issues with any car after just 100 miles of ownership. Now that they are fine, Luke can enjoy riding around this beautiful BMW E92 M3 and hopefully get further than another hundred or so miles.
