Since its inception, the name "Rolls-Royce" has been synonymous with luxury, and with the debut of the newly redesigned Ghost, they have yet again shown exactly what they are capable of doing. As the single best-selling model to have been made, Rolls-Royce knew they would need to be more than just innovative with the 2021 model. Enter the 2021 Ghost, which RR themselves are calling "the most technologically advanced Rolls-Royce" ever.

Setting The Bar High

From even just looking at the new Ghost, it oozes luxury. The Spirit of Ecstasy and the backlit Pantheon grille give the Ghost a familial appearance but show that the Ghost will handle itself in its own way, targeting a younger new-money demographic.

Riding on new Planar suspension to increase agility, the Ghost features all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering as well. With all this upgraded suspension work, the 6.75 liter V12 provides 563 horsepower and 627 foot-pounds of torque for effortless travel to any destination.

Inner Peace

While dramatically improving and modernizing the exterior, the new Ghost also received a brand new interior fit for royalty. The doors feature electric motors for automated opening and closing so it always feels like there is a chauffeur ready outside. Additionally, the interior components have been modified to specific resonant frequencies to give the interior of the car a calmer atmosphere than offered in any other car.

A Quiet Place

According to Rolls-Royce Head Designer Henry Cloke, the Ghost focuses on refinement and simplicity for its design. The interior "is a detoxifying space" because it should be a safe space from the complexities of the owner's life. This left no room for error according to Cloke, who said that the space is intentionally a blank canvas to prevent distractions. Additionally, the car sets the mood with the Rolls-Royce signature Starlight Headliner and the name "Ghost" on the interior fascia surrounded by 850 star lights.

A New Experience

Cloke says that the new Ghost is as much an experience for the driver as it is for the passenger for once. "Every car is finished symmetrically. That's what gives you the feeling its one canvas, one monolithic sculpture from front to rear." The dimensions of the doors are equal for front seats and rear, showing that the car is both to drive or be driven in. Rolls-Royce has said that the cars will have even more bespoke options available to their clients.

A Step Above The Rest

Like any Rolls-Royce, pricing won't be cheap. The new Ghost is expected to cost around $315,000, which is quite a bit higher than its possible competition. That said, the Ghost competes with the Bentley Flying Spur and Mulsanne, which is only slightly cheaper, as well as the S650 Maybach at nearly $100,000 less than the Ghost.
