If you've heard about SHERP, you haven't been living under a rock. An all-terrain vehicle like the SHERP N 1200 is what you imagine 'The Terminator' driving in, through the rugged leftovers of an unforeseen apocalypse. The SHERP is not alone, however. Atlas Industry from Ukraine has its own version, called the Atlas ATV. It's a hardcore means of mobility and comes with tyres designed to tackle all sorts of obstacles in its path. The folks at Atlas haven't forgotten to add functionality and comfort to the mix. Calling it an 'off-roader' is like calling Mike Tyson an athlete - when in truth - his fists are weapons of destruction: you wouldn't be doing justice to his purpose. Vehicles like the SHERP and the Atlas have been designed to navigate through snow, sand and yes, water too. The Atlas ATV can take on extreme weather conditions and can also be used to ferry people across the harshest of terrains. Think is Batman's Tumbler was an SUV, this would be it!

The Atlas ATV Looks Beastly

We think it looks that bit better than the SHERP, thanks to the large, glared windows and windshield, and those LED lights up-front. You know it's got intentions to cross continents the moment you look at it. This huge vehicle can move on water too, thanks to humongous, bloated tires that help it stay afloat. As per the manufacturer's suggested air pressure, the tires stand 5.4 feet high, dwarfing almost anything parked or stood next to it. Its 22-inches of ground clearance will clear anything that comes in its way and its indestructible stance can only be matched by that of the SHERP.

A Look Inside The Atlas ATV

The cabin has the capacity to carry up to 12 people, but this can also be modified to accommodate a stretcher, if need be. The driver gets to sit in the middle, at the front with great visibility from inside. Speaking of the interior, it is laid out in a simple manner, and it can be customized to meet your requirements. Some features inside include a manometer, rearview monitor, pump lever, water pump and a locking and pumping tumbler.

The Powertrain Of The Atlas ATV

This could easily be mistaken for being powered by a monstrous 12-cylinder engine, and we don't blame you. It is instead, powered by a 1.5-liter, turbocharged diesel engine from Renault (oh yes, from the Dacia Duster) and can reach a neck-snapping top speed of 38mph on land and 5mph (4.3 Knots) on water. The Atlas can cover a range of 500 miles on a full tank of diesel. The engine makes 90hp and 162 lb-ft of torque. The Atlas ATV comes with a pneumatic suspension, a differential lock, a ground guard and a reversible seat belt.

Can Anyone Have An Atlas ATV?

The best part about owning one of these, is needing a regular driver's license and nothing more. So you can have that Dacia Duster to pick up the children from school on weekdays, and climb up into the Atlas, seeking some adventure on the weekends. You can order one of these for $135,000, which makes it costlier than the SHERP N 1200. Just remember that, although it isn't targeted at the military, this is not a street-legal vehicle, meaning, you'll have to put it on a truck to take it to your favorite remote spot to drive it.
