We’ve all seen the cars that the Fast & Furious characters drive...in the movies. That begs the question, what cars do the cast of the F&F franchise drive off-screen? Of course, one has to realize that, being celebrities, they don’t own just a car or two but a whole fleet. Plus, having an excess of money also means that many of these actors may be changing cars faster than we change clothes but even so, they are spotted in some models often enough for fans to mark out their favorites.
Since the F&F franchise is all about cars, it makes for an interesting list to see which of the actors in it, drive cool cars in real life. And by cool, we do not mean the expensive and the luxurious. Sometimes, the tastes of celebrities run to the simple, the classic, and the kind of cars that can keep them a tad anonymous. Like the cars, F&F director Justin Lin drives.
Here are ten actors from the F&F franchise, and what they drive in real life, today. Tomorrow may bring in a cooler ride.
10 Dwayne Johnson Loves His Ford GT
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may have been a crowd puller for the F&F franchise, but rumor has it, he shares little love with his cast members, Vin Diesel and Tyrese Gibson. But that’s hardly any water of The Rock’s back, considering he’s one of the highest-paid Hollywood actors today.
His garage reflects that, with the likes of the Lamborghini Huracan, Rolls-Royce Wraith, and more such expensive fleet of cars. But one of Johnson’s favored rides is his 2017 Ford GT, carrying a 3.5-liter engine mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission.
9 Michelle Rodriguez Zips In A Ferrari 458
Michelle Rodriguez is mostly a low-profile star in real life, although she’s quite the firecracker in the movie, shown to be Dom’s better half. While she managed to fly helicopters in “Avatar”, in normal life, she loves to be seen in her red Ferrari 458.
The 2015 Ferrari 458 Italia jets 562 horses from its 4.5-liter V8 engine, making another 398 lb-ft of torque, making it the perfect ride for any Hollywood spitfire. She also owns a Lambo and more.
8 Jason Statham Loves His Audi R8s
Along with starring in the F&F franchise, Statham was also the star of “The Transporter” where he is shown to do a stunt in an Audi R8. Statham ends up tilting the car and driving on two wheels, and we guess he was so impressed with the car, he bought two of them, one in black and the other in white.
The 430-horsepower V8 engine of the Audi R8 lets it fly 0-60 MPH in 4.0 seconds, so it seems Statham needs speed. The other cars in his garage are a Porsche 911 GT2, Lamborghini Murcielago, and an Aston Martin DBS.
7 Gal Gadot Adores Her Jaguar F-Type
Today, we all know Gal Gadot more for being DC’s Wonder Woman than anything else, but she was part of the F&F franchise and only made it better. She is an ardent fan of the Jaguar F-Type, and once said that "the F-TYPE is a girl's best friend, akin to a diamond ring".
The powerful supercharged V6 engine makes 340 horses and 332 lb-ft of torque, sprinting 0-60 MPH in 5.1 seconds, at top speeds of 161 MPH. The mother-of-three has often been spotted taking her Jag for a spin.
6 Tyrese Gibson Remodels Sprinters For Kicks
Tyrese Gibson aka. Roman Pearce wears multiple hats. He is a singer, songwriter, author, rapper, actor, model, host as well as a screenwriter. In his free time, although we cannot see how he has free time, he gets Mercedes Sprinter vans remodeled.
So he got one made that ended up looking like a cross between a Sprinter and a Rolls-Royce, with the Spirit Of Ecstasy hood ornament. The interior seemed like a Liberace fan, with deep maroon and gold upholstery, and had all the amenities like a fridge and TV. So Gibson got another made and gifted the first one to Vin Diesel.
5 Vin Diesel Has A 1970 Dodge Charger R/T For Real
The car that took Vin Diesel’s F&F character, Dom Toretto to heights, was gifted to the actor by director Justin Lin, who helmed four of the hit movies in the franchise. While the supercharger on the top was mostly fake, you have to love everything else about the car, including its 7.2-liter Magnum V8 engine.
The Road/Track package on the classic Dodge Charger came with many more performance upgrades, making for an amazing classic addition to any celebrity’s garage, and Diesel treasures it, as he should. Of course, he also has a Lykan Hypersport, so his garage is as buff as are his muscles.
4 Ludacris Prefers The Luxury Of A Mercedes Maybach GLS 600
Ludacris, born Christopher Brian Bridges, is a famous American rapper and actor and loves to roam around in his luxury cars, especially his Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 that comes with a 3.9-liter V8 jetting a whopping 557 horses and an almost equal, 538 lb-ft of torque.
Despite being a rather large SUV, Ludacris can put the pedal to the metal and zip 0-to-60 MPH in an amazing 4.9 seconds. Of course, being one rich celeb, this car just makes part of his garage.
3 Jordana Brewster Is Incognito In A Range Rover Sport
Jordana Brewster is Mia Torreto in the F&F movies and plays Dom’s sister and Brian O’Conner’s loves interest, played by the late Paul Walker. The Brazilian-American actress may drive the coolest of cars in the movies but in real life, she stays away from supercars and prefers to use a 2012 Range Rover Sport.
She claims it’s comfortable and that she loves it, and has a whole Range Rover collection. That said, she also stated that she does not like the new Range Rovers much, preferring her old one and goes more for the looks in a car, than the engine.
2 John Cena Flies In A 1970 Plymouth Superbird
John Cena has an enviable car collection, with cars like the Ford GT, a 2007 Ford Mustang Saleen Parnelli Jones Limited Edition, but more than ever, he loves his classics. So he has a COPO Camaro, a HEMI Charger but the crowning glory has to be the classic that got booted out of NASCAR, for being too powerful.
We mean the iconic 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a performance version of the Road Runner with a long nose and sky-high wing. It came powered by a 7.0-liter V8 jetting 425 horses and could zip over speeds of 150 MPH.
1 Charlize Theron Upgraded To A BMW X5
Charlize Theron was a pleasant villainous addition to the F&F franchise and remains looming, so we may see her back. She loves BMWs and upgraded to the 2016 BMW X5, the moment it hit the dealers. The 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine makes 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft torque.
Theron is also quite the NASCAR fan and has participated in a few races as well, so she knows a thing or two about fast cars, especially since she raced Minis in the newer version of The Italian Job, with Mark Wahlberg.
