The Bronco Everglades is designed specifically for those outdoorsy people who enjoy an overlanding expedition. It comes equipped with nearly everything they might need for a good long-drawn automotive adventure. Furthermore, the Bronco Everglades is specifically designed to perform its best in swampy and muddy terrain.

The Everglades comes standard equipped with the optional Sasquatch package. It sits on 35-inch mud-terrain tires. Included in the package is the light kit for added ground clearance and underbody shielding for extra protection.

The key changes made to the Bronco Everglades include a snorkel. The snorkel is designed and engineered by Ford and is placed on the passenger side A-pillar. It helps raise the engine’s air intake to optimize performance in dust, snow, and water, and also improves its wading capabilities. Combined with the raised vents for the transfer case and transmission, the water wading capacity of the Bronco Everglades is rated at 36.4 inches. Park your Bronco Everglades in the water, and you can go fishing if you want to.

But more importantly, the Everglades gets a factory-equipped winch that seems to be the first-ever in the auto industry. It is not a dealer-installed accessory. The heavy-duty front bumper is designed by Ford Performance and it is fitted with a Zeon 10-S Warn winch. The winch has a capacity of 10,000-pound and uses a 100-foot synthetic line. Interestingly, Ford has also crash-tested the vehicle with the winch to make it a factory-fitted feature.

Other styling changes include a specially designed set of 17-inch gray finished alloy wheels that look like steelies. They sit below the square top arch fenders. Additionally, the SUV also features some bespoke graphics — the most notable is the one on the front fender that features the Everglades topography. As standard, Ford is also offering the roof rack with crossbars, rock rails, a molded-in-color hardtop as standard.

To finish it all off is a special coat of Desert Sand shade of exterior paint. The color is exclusive to the Everglades and it gives it a nice earthy vibe.

The Driving Force Of The Bronco Everglades

Ford will offer a limited range of powertrain options with the Everglades. When we say limited, we mean very limited. The Everglades will only be available with the base 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder Ecoboost engine. The transmission option is also restricted in choice to the 10-speed automatic gearbox. This powertrain is rated to deliver 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. The Everglades will also be limited to the four-door model.

The engine from the Raptor is out of the question as Ford looks to preserve that for its flagship models, However, the middle-spec motor with more power would have been the ideal choice for when owners begin adding overlanding gear that adds more weight to the vehicle.
