The Mercedes-Benz G Wagon is a beloved model line in the automotive universe, instantly recognizable whether you are a car aficionado or not; an SUV that screams presence and capability from a distance.

You could say the same of other cars, but the G Wagon almost sits in its own niche – with few competitors to challenge its appealing blend of muscular, utilitarian style and up-market quality, comfort, and features.

It’s not usually the first choice as the inspiration for a hot rod of any kind, although it is no stranger to the occasional special edition, such as Doug DeMuro’s G500 Cabriolet, the G63 AMG 6×6 and many more besides.

Thanks to digital artisan Adry53customs and their prolific Instagram account, HotCars can see this vision of a hot G Wagon brought into the light of day and high resolution for our viewing pleasure.

The HotCars Exclusive G Wagon Hot Rod Is Out Of This World

For this design, the G-Class inspiration is integral to the design, although there isn’t much left of the standard SUV in this hot rod design.

The main elements present here, are the unmistakable grill, the front end, and the cabin, which remains as a single cab set up.

With a huge air scoop and supercharger elements sticking out top, the hood runs down to the grill and then to a carbon fiber front splitter. The carbon theme continues down the side with aero on the side and the wheels are huge, as you might expect, with wide semi-slick tires.

We Love The G Wagon As A High-Performance Track Car

With the supercharged big-block engine under the hood, this car would make a lot of noise and suit the boldness of the hot rod theme – but it could just as well use a turbocharged 4.0-liter from Mercedes-Benz's own parts shelf.

Up back, the cabin resolves into a semi-truck-looking rear, with just the rear subframe, axel and integrated anti-roll bar arrangement looking great, especially with the dramatic rear window and sculpted sides around the cab rear.

A supercar-inspired exhaust system and the light bar get accompanied by an extremely bold rear diffuser and along with the crazy wheels, this looks like a lot of track fun for the well-heeled.

Clearly, this car got optimized for static presence with its low stance but with the wheels, aero and lightweight body and that engine, it could form the basis of an excellent racer – one which we would surely have on our wish list.
