The outrageous Thor24 semi-truck is nearing completion and its insane engine build has the American automotive industry on edge. Appearing to be something straight out of Mad Max: Fury Road, both the vehicle’s exterior looks and engine configuration are sure to knock the socks off even the most intense car enthusiast. Rumor has it this monster of a truck will soon be available for sale.

Thor24, or The Holy Mother of Metal, started as a passion project by Mike Harrah, the vehicle’s creator, that eventually spiraled into something no one has seen before. It all started when Harrah found and became enamored with two incredibly large DD engines, which once powered a yacht, and began building a vehicle around them. What resulted is a true beast of a vehicle with 12 superchargers and a whopping output of 3,974 horsepower. Autoblog notes that building the vehicle took almost a decade and $7 million to come to life, but once you learn what it’s capable of it all makes sense.

Alongside the two DD engines sits astounding amounts of high-powered parts ready to fuel this road destroyer. The custom-built aluminum intake currently houses 8 BDS 871 superchargers that send air to 4 more - making for a total of 12 superchargers on top of the double engine setup. In between the superchargers sits 8 nitrous oxide bottles, just in case the superchargers and engines weren’t quite powerful enough. With a setup like this, incredible power is to be expected, which is just what Thor24 delivers with 3,974 horsepower and an undisclosed, but surely earth-spinning, amount of torque. All of the included bells and whistles make for a very heavy truck. Thor24 currently sits at a weight of 32,000 pounds, which is why Harrah installed 4 12-foot drag chutes onto the vehicle to help with braking.

As one of the most customized semis on the market, you can expect that the exterior and interior looks of this powerful truck are just as stunning as the engine. The 44-foot truck with Lamborghini-style doors is adorned with Candy Apple Red paint, painted flames, and a wild Thor mural. Upon entering the custom-stretched 1979 Peterbilt crew cab sits 7 movie screens - including a giant 40-inch screen, 24-gauge instrument cluster, 1,500-watt per channel 110-volt sound system, chrome walls, grey carpets, and a gear shifter in the shape of a broadsword. We could go on and on about the astounding engine setup, but even the Thor24 website mentions that “the entire list of additional features and accessories can go on for ninety nine and one-half days.”

With specs like these, it’s not surprising that when the truck went up on sale at the Worldwide Auctioneers event it cost its new owner a steep $12 million. However, considering the fact that it took 7 years of labor and $7 million to come to life, $12 million is a steal.
