TrailSport Addition Highlights The New Passport Range

The 2022 Passport sees the addition of the new TrailSport variant, the first of a new series of Honda TrailSport vehicles. Exclusive styling adorns this new edition, with a unique grille, extra aggressive bumpers at the front and rear plus silver skid garnish designs. Orange TrailSport badges are spotted on the grille and tailgate, and the standard Passport and AWD badges are now in gloss black. Further unique to the TrailSport are the 18-inch wheels with Pewter painted highlights, which are mated to 245/60R18 tires with a sidewall tread for a more aggressive look.

The biggest talking point with the standard edition of the new Passport is that aggressive exterior styling, which can be seen from the A-pillars forward. A crossbar sits atop the grille and bisects the headlight lenses, which Honda says helps to accentuate the Passport's width which is further complemented by the addition of a prominent skid-garnish design. This all adds to the tougher look of the SUV. The rear features a much more aggressive bumper design, and all versions of the Passport feature a tougher-looking alloy wheel design. A special HPD package has been created with Honda Performance Development, which adds a unique grille, black fender flares, aggressive wheels plus special HPD graphics on the rear quarter panel.

The 2022 Honda Passport is to be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 280 hp, which is paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox, which Honda describes as smooth and responsive. A feature that is standard on the TrailSport and Elite versions, but optional on the EX-L is the Honda i-VTM4 torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system, which Honda claim expands the off-road capability of the Passport. To differentiate the Elite and the EX-L, there are subtle differences. The rear window is matte black on the EX-L, but it is a gloss finish on the Elite. Honda state that the new Passport is set to begin arriving at the dealers in the winter of 2021/2022.
