V12 engines somehow exemplify the phrase “there is no replacement for displacement.” Various carmakers, including BMW, have employed V12 engines in their most potent vehicles. Now, BMW is saying goodbye to V12 engines. To commemorate this latest development, BMW will offer The Final V12 — a limited series of the last 12 vehicles with a V12 engine under the hood.

This June BMW will build the last road-going V12 engine, each of which is a 6.6-liter unit with BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology. Thanks to two mono-scroll turbochargers, infinitely variable valve control (Double VANOS and Valvetronic) as well as high-precision direct injection, BMW’s final V12 engines can deliver up to 601 hp available between 5,500 and 6,500 rpm.

This V12 engine will serve as the core of The Final V12, which are essentially special, limited versions of the BMW M760i xDrive. Mated to an 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission, this V12 allows The Final V12 to zoom from zero to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds.

The Final V12 will be distinguishable from the standard M760i xDrive with their unique badging, wheels, and exterior colors and upholstery from BMW Individual. For instance, they will feature a bold “V12” icon at the rear, replacing the “M760i” badge. They will also feature Threshold plates and an engine cover plaque with the “The Final V12” lettering. A center console-mounted plaque “The Final V12” and “1 OF 12” mark the exclusivity of the special model.

The interior dons a BMW Individual Piano Black Finish trim, although customers avail of several tones of opulent Full Merino leather from BMW Individual.
