The electric motor is featured with an internal permanent magnet brushless architecture and a passive air cooling system to boost the motor's performance. This powerful motor can propel the bike to a top speed of 124 mph.

The SR/F Standard and Premium trims are available in variable charging capabilities. The Standard one is offered with a 3kW charger, while the Premium comes with a 6kW charger. The SR/F comes with four selectable riding modes - Eco, Sport, Rain, and Street. With each mode, the throttle response and power delivery reset to complement the ride mode. The electric-powered SR/F is no less than any conventional gasoline-powered motorbike in terms of speed. The SR/F can do a 0 to 60 mph run in a tiny 3.7 seconds, and it is an enviable figure for many sports bikes in the category. Further, it can go 80 mph with an additional 1.7 seconds, and it can do a quarter-mile run in 11.83 seconds with a top speed of 124 mph.

Zero claims the new SR/F to be completely smart. The bike has an integrated operating system named Cypher III that acts as a hub to integrate all motorcycle systems that work in collaboration with the smartphone app. The Cypher is connected with the BOSCH Motorcycle Stability Control system (MSC), and this is the first time an electric motorcycle is featured with the MSC. This system allows dynamic acceleration and improved stability in various road surfaces and conditions, such as traction control, drag torque control, and cornering brake control. Further, the Cypher III is enabled with OTA updates.

The Cypher III’s operating system remains in synchronous with the mobile application through cloud computing. Riders can access information, such as the bike’s status and location, from the app. Particularly, the app monitors the bike’s condition and delivers four main types of status and alerts to the rider - charging, ride data, system upgrades, and updates.

The Zero SR/F is a step further for an electrified future with some super cool features. The Cypher III operating system with cloud-based smartphone integration is the latest feature. As per the company’s claims, no other electric or gasoline-powered bike at present has equipped the system, which certainly gives an edge to the SR/F.
