We humans have always loved to explore. The sense of the unknown has always intrigued us over the centuries. Uncharted waters have always led to revelations of oneself and that has helped us evolve individually and as a whole. In the modern world, getting lost is intentional and helps us rejuvenate by living life out of the box. And Husqvarna wants to be the perfect companion in our efforts to find the true north with the all-new radical Norden 901, Husqvarna's first-ever adventure motorcycle.

Yes, it is technically a KTM 890 Adventure but with no 'orange' and more Swede appeal. Sweden is the land of automobile wonder, as we have seen simplistic yet intense design languages from Volvo, extremely powerful machines and bleeding-edge technology from Koenigsegg, and now, radical and dramatic motorcycles from Husqvarna. This motorcycle maker has a strong name in the motocross world, and that has been widely used in its all-new big-bad ADV.

Comfort and technology are held highly in the new all-terrain husqie and there is no dearth of drama here; so much so that it looks more enticing than the KTM 890 Adventure. The perfect companion to guide on your true Northern expedition will launch in November and compete against the likes of experienced BMW F 850 GS Adventure, the perfect Honda Africa Twin, the hooliganistic KTM 890 Adventure, the classy Triumph Tiger 900 Rally, and the loved Suzuki V-Strom 1050XT.

The Swedish twin of the KTM 890 Adventure wants to be the perfect companion for your 'norden' calling.

Husqvarna Norden 901 uses the same base engine as the KTM 890 Adventure but with a few magical touches of its own. It is an oversquare engine that helps the Norden 901 ace the cruising character by availing peak performance and toque just around the mid-range mark. This 889cc parallel-twin motor churns out 100 HP and 74 lb-ft of torque.

To strongly access its bulletproof nature, reliability has been given prime importance with forged camshafts, SLC-coated finger followers, steel intake and exhaust valves, forged 3-ring bridged-box pistons, two oil pumps, a knock sensor, and the zeal to get back up without any hiccup. Things get spicy with 3 standard riding modes - Street, Off-Road, and Rain mode. Husqvarna also offers an optional Explorer mode which is a cooler name for Custom mode.

An adventure tourer needs to adapt proactively to the changing terrains and weather conditions. And Husqvarna has thrown all it knows in the books onto the Norden 901. The rallying pedigree that both KTM and Husqvarna enjoy is utilized with the new ADV on the block. Ergonomics is extremely adaptive with 6-settings for the tapered aluminum bar with about 1.2-inches of clearance between ends.

The ribbed seat can be set in two positions - 6 or 3.4 inches for riders of all heights to enjoy. Cold weather can utilize the optional heated seat as well. The mechanical feature list is downright impressive as well. Suspension duties are taken care of by WP Apex units with pre-load and rebound adjustability at both ends.

Juan brakes promising confidence-inspiring stoppage power and is backed by Bosch ABS. A quickshifter is standard and the clutch comes with a slipper function. Its trellis frame uses chromoly tubing for added strength and reduced weight. And it has got some cool shoes with the aggressive-looking Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires that look hungry for off-roading.

While it might look foolish to have a completely could ADV, the Norden 901 has one for aerodynamic efficiency and practical adventure-ready fitments. And the radically cool looks come free with the package. Husqvarna has retained its distinctive rounded front fascia that is also found in the Svartplin and Vitplin offerings.

The cool black, grey, and lime-green color combinations add to its distinctive design appeal. Despite all the bodywork, the Husqvarna Norden 901 still is narrow and tactile on challenging and narrow terrains. The fairing also has integrated spoilers for high-speed stability.
