There is no doubt that Bugattis are and have always been the car everyone wants but can’t afford. Who wouldn’t want a Bugatti? It is, after all, one of the world's few examples of pure success and achievement possible in a person's life. Only 500 people worldwide can own a Bugatti Chiron, and only 450 can own a Veyron. It makes sense that their highest produced models are still highly limited.

For over 110 years Bugatti has been the pinnacle of automotive design and performance, with their cars built to be the most luxurious and fast vehicles around, keeping the company strong through two World Wars. After all of that, the now Volkswagen-owned hypercar company is still strong and making some of the fastest and most stunning automobiles in the world.

But how do they do it? How is Bugatti always on top?

They manage to always be considered the best by giving the utmost care and time to their automobiles right from the beginning, while their cars are created.

Bugatti isn’t your average auto manufacturer. They don’t use an electronic conveyer belt or big machines to build their cars. The workers at Bugatti do it themselves. You may be wondering, how could someone build a whole car on their own?

Well, the answer is, that's not what happens. Instead, 20 separate people work on one car. They then put it together, piece by piece. This process takes extra long, as they use hand tools and not electric ones. This means that hundreds, even thousands, of pieces that go into a Bugatti are put together by hand, a slow but caring process. The interior is additionally extra special when it comes to care and quality. They don’t use an automatic stitching machine like most companies. The interiors of Bugattis are hand stitched. Hours, days, weeks put in to give their cars the absolute top quality design and comfort.

Engine Power

A Pagani Zonda R weighs a mere 2,359 pounds, yet it is a whole lot slower than the 4,400 pound Bugatti Chiron. That is because what Bugatti debatably does best is make engines. Their latest model, the Chiron, has an 8.0 liter W16 motor with 4 turbochargers and makes a whopping 1500 horsepower. The 300 mile per hour Super Sport model has 1600 horsepower. The reality is that while Bugattis are heavy and bulky cars, they make up for it and much more in their extreme power numbers. With these massive engines Bugattis reach speeds limited to 261 miles per hour for buyers. This means that Bugattis can go faster, and can even possibly reach 500 kilometers per hour, but, for safety reasons, are limited to this number. With this they’ve managed to reach a mark no other company has ever done, which is to have a stock production car pass 300 miles per hour. For some time, Bugatti’s 1001 horsepower engine in the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse also held a world record for fastest open top car in the world. But the extension of this speed dominance to the stock production car makes them stand out.

While many high speed cars are uncomfortable to sit in, Bugatti is the opposite. Bugatti makes interiors that are meant to be as comfortable as a Rolls Royce but with the speed of a hypercar. When you buy a Bugatti you aren’t just getting the experience of pure speed. You are getting the experience of comfort on another level. No other existing company has been able to pull off the aspect of comfort as well as excitement all in one car like Bugatti has. Bugatti has even teamed up with companies such as Hermès to make 1 of 1’s such as Manny Khoshbin’s Hermès edition Bugatti Chiron, a car that is sure to be comfortable. Bugatti understands that speed, style, and comfort can, and should, go hand in hand. And that is the true secret to their hypercar dominance.
