With the introduction of the Cybertruck, Tesla, and CEO Elon Musk, made a big splash in the car design and EV waters...again! After revolutionizing both the way we think about cars, automobile purchasing, and design, it didn't seem possible to disrupt the market yet again, but he and they have most assuredly done so. And not in the staid old sedan or SUV market mind you, but by taking on one of the scared (cash) cows of the industry itself - the American pickup truck segment.

I'm speaking of the Cybertruck of course. Not only was it revealed to much fanfare, and more than a faux pas or two, but it absolutely upended every critic's idea of what Elon had up his sleeve. And while it might be polarizing, there is no denying its capability with superior range, acceleration, materials and construction techniques. Indeed, it appears it will also offer some unique opportunities as a multipurpose platform for a range of service vehicles. Let's take a look at what could be coming to a city street, beach, and off road near you if old Elon has his way.

Need A Little Help!

While the Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado and Dodge RAM might be the vehicles of choice for tradesmen, farmers, and anyone who needs the superior hauling ability of a truck, the Cybertruck looks set to end that dominance. According to LeaseFetcher, the UK based car leasing brokerage firm, the Cybertruck could prove to be a superior towing vehicle "with its tri-motor system and can tow up to 6350 kg. This shows us that the all-electric truck is one mean towing machine."

They continue, and "[a]lthough the NYPD hasn’t declared anything officially, the [main image] shows that the car could look very slick. The vehicle comes with bulletproof glass, solid cold-rolled steel unibody construction, and with mind-blowing acceleration 0 to 60 mph in 2,9 seconds. This vehicle will probably make a powerful addition to any police force. For that matter, the mayor of Ciudad Valley has stated that having this vehicle is inevitable."

Deliveries Too...

But towing and policing only represent a small sample of what the Cybertruck is capable of as it could very well take on pizza delivery duties as well. Forget about cold pizzas as they are a thing of the past with the brisk acceleration of the Cybertruck. Likewise, "Taxi organizations are also taking an interest in the Cybertruck. It’s towing capacity an speed make the trip to the airport or bus-station look easy." And even across the pond, the UK's Royal Mail Service might be getting on board given the superior dynamics of the Cyber truck as well.

...And Let's Not Forget

And last up, as the Cybertruck benefits from a slick drivetrain with all wheel drive and multiple electric motors it is well suited to off road chores. Displayed in the mockup above in Coast Guard trim, the "excellent traction will keep it from getting stuck in the mud and will also come with a useful jet ski in the back for search and rescue missions."

Tesla stated that the truck "will also come with additions like locks for securing storage and solar wings for boosting range." And there you have it, the wide, and wild, world of Cybertruck service trucks (hopefully) coming to a road, shoreline or off road near you. Buckle up, Elon!
