The advent of COVID-19, lock-downs and Work From Home situations has resulted in a newfound love for motorhomes. And manufacturers (old and new) have been at it to make a mark and grab a big bite of this increasing craze for an off-the-grid experience. One such motorhome maker who seems to have nailed it is the Poland-based camper maker - Xpedition Pro.

And they are turning eyeballs with their first-ever motorhome - the XPRO One. Based on the Poland-specific Iveco Daily 4X4 commercial vehicle, this camper is heavily inspired by military vehicles and fighter jets. The design is unique, with function given more importance. It is capable of extreme off-roading and can keep occupants off the grid in the deep wild, for ten days without external support.

Contrary to the rugged exterior, the interior packs all the amenities that you will ever need and more. And while we wait up for official pricing and availability of the XPRO One, Xpedition Pro is already working on their next cool project named - USS Enterprise. It seems to be inspired by the USS Enterprise (CNV-64) which was the first nuclear-powered US Navy aircraft carrier. Well, coolness seems to be baked right into this Polish motorhome manufacturer.

The Xpedition Pro XPRO One can put you in stealth mode for ten continuous days, and its military-grade ruggedness goes beyond the looks.

There's An Iveco Daily 4X4 Underneath That Ruggedness

This cool-looking motorhome is based on a truck from a very widespread commercial vehicle maker from Italy, who also undertake military orders. Underneath all that ruggedness, we have the underpinnings of an Iveco Daily 4X4. And as Xpedition Pro is based out of Poland, the XPro One uses a native diesel-powered Daily. It packs a 3.0-Liter diesel motor that churns out 177 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque.

Power is sent to all four wheels via a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic gearbox. This military-grade motorhome can be had in three wheelbase options - 133.9 inches, 148.8 inches, and 164.4 inches. The Diesel-powered Iveco is known to be a workhorse and that fits perfectly into this picture.

The XPRO One has been designed to not just look rugged, but go the extra mountain as well! It gets a transfer case to shift into low range for tackling challenging uphill trails. This rugged camper also gets front, center, and rear locking differentials that can get you out of the slimiest of situations.

While the rear end looks odd with the steeply upswept design, it is purely purpose-based. The upswept approach provides this motorhome with an impressive 27-degree departure angle along. The front is jacked up enough as well to provide a 37-degree approach angle. It gets capable 37-inch off-road tires wrapped around 17-inch wheels.

Takes Design Inspirations From The F-117 Nighthawk Stealth Aircraft

According to the XPRO One's design team, everything from military vehicles, fighter jets, drones, tanks, and velociraptors have inspired the design language of this motorhome. But the majority of design cues happen to be a homage to the F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter. The aircraft-inspired bits can be seen in its sharp body panels and the cool camouflage paint scheme in two shades of gray.

The exterior is reinforced with 54mm thick reinforced laminate. Everything on the outside speaks ruggedness and stealth. Apart from the headlamps that get halogen bulbs, all other lighting bits are LEDs. And we especially dig the cool taillight design. Apart from looking cool, the exterior also opens up to a bunch of amenities. There are loads of storage compartments all around, including aluminum toolboxes. The military-grade motorhome also gets a pull-out gas grille.

But it's when you get inside, you understand the true definition of "night and day". With all the exterior ruggedness and "bring it on" attitude, you expect the interior to be barebone and built for survival. Well, it sure is built for survival; but with a lot of luxuries, comfort, and space. This compact motorhome has room for three people to sleep comfortably.

One mattress is located above the cab, which is accessible via a folding staircase. The sitting area at the rear converts into the second mattress and is comfy for two sleepy occupants. This might be one of those few compact motorhomes that get different compartments for a bathroom and shower. The kitchenette here includes a sink, two-burner stove, and a 135-Liter (4.767 cu.ft.) refrigerator. The XPRO One also holds two 52.8-gallon (200 liters) tanks of fresh and gray water.

It also packs a diesel-powered Truma heater with a 2.64-gallon (10-liter) boiler. Electricity duties are taken care of by a pair of 160-amp Li-Ion batteries. It also gets optional roof-mounted solar panels to help trickle charge the batteries if you plan on staying away from civilization for a long period. Privacy and protection get bumped up with tempered glass, roller shutters, and three-bolt locks for its doors.

This rugged motorhome upholds the military inspiration quite well; not just in design, but in function as well. They have managed to keep things cool without compromising on practicality and comfort. The XPRO One has managed to push the comfort factor up a notch as well with its spacious for-three interior. And it does look like something that Maverick would drive in his vacation time!
