The name EVO might ring a bell because a long time ago, Mitsubishi used to call one of its cars that. But now it’s the Lambo’s turn, and it has named its new Huracán the Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder. Now obviously, it’s a Lambo, so speed and looks come with the territory, but mind you, this is not the kind of the Lambo you want to take on a race track. This is the kind you want when attention is what you seek and fame is what you desire.

That said, do not for an instance think this is a tame little housecat. It’s all claws and teeth on the road and comes with blistering acceleration, a not-so-comfortable ride, and of course the admiration or envy of the general masses. Simply put, the car is a sensory overload even if mild discomfort is part of the experience.

It’s the kind of car that makes you feel like five years old on Christmas morning facing a tree piled with many gifts for you. If you just broke into a silly, anticipatory grin, then that’s the Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder in its gist.

Let’s Talk Specs On The Huracán Evo Spyder

The Looks Are Amazing But Then Again, At $287,000, So Is The Price For The 2020 Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder

Let’s first break all the specs down, by numbers, to tell you how awesome of a car this truly is. The naturally-aspirated Lambo-tuned 5.2-liter V10 mates with a seven-speed automatic transmission and rides on an all-wheel-drive to make 631 bone-shaking horses and 443 lb-ft of torque.

It’s everything you’d want from a Lambo, if not more, with top speeds of 202 mph, hitting 62 mph in 3.1 seconds, and 124 mph in 9.3 seconds. The looks are amazing but then again, at $287,000, so is the price.

The exhausts are centered and high on the tail for not just perfect outflow but also an aural pleasure as the Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder revs to drown out even the loudest of all beats. Start the engine and the menacing note fills the air and the car jumps forward in its default Strada driving mode, via the Anima drive-mode selector. Even in Strada, the car is ready to leave the roads and charge for the moon but the actual fun begins with the Sport and Corsa driving modes.

The Sport mode is more playful with an even louder exhaust and sharper driving. But if you really want to chew up roads in a car that may not be the Ferrari but then again does not need to be one either, it’s the Corsa mode where the steering is heavier, and the dampers are beefier. The Corsa makes the Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder drive like one serious car, hellbent to go it's fastest.

The Extra Special Bits

The Exhausts Are Centred And High On The Tail For Not Just Perfect Outflow But Also Aural Pleasure As The Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder Revs To Drown Out Even The Loudest Of All Beats
Via SlashGear

The Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder has a special system called the Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI), or the Lamborghini Dynamic Vehicle Integration. It is a computer-operated system that gathers all the preferences of a driver and makes the car accordingly adapt to the seat height and adjustments, driving style and even driving mode. It’s like the car truly understands your needs and desires, and knows what you want from it even before you do. Short of perhaps your shirt size, it can get you anything you want before you go about getting it.

Inside, it boasts an 8.4-inch touchscreen that features not just infotainment but also basic controls but it's what most cars carry in this day and age, even the ones that don’t cost almost $300,000. There’s a slight change in the front bumper as well as the tail as too, but mostly the car still looks like the earlier models.

Is There A Downside To The Evo?

For All That The Car Does Offer, Do Remember That The Huracán Evo Spyder Is Lambo’s “Entry-Level” Model And Things Just Go Up From Here
Via Autoweek

The Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder is a gorgeous car, but there’s one massive issue with it. Other than being able to seat only two, the EVO cannot seem to seat anyone in comfort and a taller driver is likely to have his knees jammed up and against the steering. The good thing is that the top opens and closes at the touch of a button, and with the top open you just have to get into the car by lowering yourself in it. Otherwise, it’s not that easy to get in and get out, and the seat adjustment is limited by the bulkhead as well.

The second downside, which may be an upside for many, is the amount of attention you get from this car. Once you are in a Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder, with the top down, all eyes are going to be on you, which means you better be a person who preens in the spotlight than someone who eschews it. If you do not want attention or people coming up to you to ask how much the car costs, this is not the car for you, period. You’d be better off in another car, something that is not a Lamborghini, preferably.

For all that the car does offer, do remember that this is Lambo’s “entry-level” model and things just go up from here.
