The Honda Odyssey has been a reliable family vehicle for 26 years; it's also had a fair amount of prices throughout the years.

The Odyssey made its debut in 1995. The vehicle's purpose was to serve as a rival to the likes of the Ford Windstar and Dodge Grand Caravan with the addition of Japanese engineering and dependability. The vehicle grew increasingly popular in the following years, and people recognized the Odyssey as a reliable minivan.

The vehicle started as a dedicated family hauler, and now it has grown into quite a luxurious car. The Odyssey has become a modern and stylish vehicle with features that crossovers and SUVs can only dream of having. Honda made sure the Odyssey was a minivan and a cool car.

The 2022 Odyssey has evolved even more, and it's part of the fifth generation of the Odyssey model line. It comes with exceptional riding comfort and carefully executed technological features, and its handling is top class.

Honda's infotainment system boasts huge virtual buttons and rapid replies. The vehicle features a keyless entry and ignition, power-adjustable front seats, and a 5.0-inch display screen. It also has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

There's an EX model that comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, satellite radio, and two USB ports. It also offers heated front seats, a 12-way power-adjustable driver's seat, three-zone temperature control, and power sliding rear doors.

The Odyssey comes with the Honda Sensing suite of safety systems that include active lane control, automated emergency braking with pedestrian recognition, adaptive cruise control down to a stop, and a rear-seat reminder that informs the driver of luggage or people left in the back seats.

There's also a helpful rear-facing interior camera called Cabin Watch; it allows the driver to see what's going on in the rear seats. The footage that the camera is recording is displayed on the touchscreen.

Thanks to those safety features, the 2022 Honda Odyssey got a top five-star crash-test rating from the NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS.

The Spacious Interior & Cargo Space Are Among The Best Attributes Of The 2022 Honda Odyssey

The Odyssey delivers the roominess that only a minivan can give. It comes with the capacity for seven or eight people, with second-row seats that the driver can remove and a third-row bench that folds into the floor. The 2022 Odyssey may function as a mobile lounge or weekend work van. The interior offers a cargo compartment, comfy seats, and a roomy cabin.

The base LX model has seven seats and features power-adjustable front seats that are well-padded and pleasant. The EX model has eight seats and Magic Slide seats. With the second-row center seat removed, the Magic Slide seats can move forward and backward, so passengers can reach the third row better or adapt the seating configuration in many ways.

The other models get leather-trimmed first-row and outer second-row seats, and even while the Touring and Elite models lack the mid-row captain's chairs with footrests available on rivals' top trims, the seats come with armrests and long-distance comfort.

The Odyssey comes with a 60/40-split third row with 38 inches of leg space, which is more than most sedans. The third row folds into the floor with a few pulls of the straps that are simple to manage.

It's incredible that the Odyssey offers 33 cubic feet of luggage capacity when the three rows of seats are up. It offers 88.6 cubic feet if two rows of seats are down and 144.9 cubic feet of cargo area if you remove the second-row seats and fold the third-row seats.

The 2022 Honda Odyssey Is Built For Comfort, But Its Performance Isn't Something To Ignore

The Odyssey is fleet-footed, efficient, and sleek. The car's powertrain is a darling that demands minimal sacrifices. The Odyssey changes direction crisply, and from behind the wheel, it's easy to forget you're operating a three-row van. The steering is straight, and the effort is little.

A 280-hp 3.5-liter V-6 powers the Odyssey; it has plenty of pluck even when fully packed. It has a 10-speed automatic gearbox, and the handling isn't that bad, but you'll notice that Honda placed the focus on ride comfort rather than performance.

The one disadvantage is that the Odyssey's 10-speed gearbox could take time to shift under heavy throttle, but there's more than enough power for passing moves and terrific grunt off the line. The steering remains centered, yet the wheel turns without any force.

The Odyssey is the best-driving minivan, and its nimbleness makes it adept in corners and simple to drive on narrow roads. The Odyssey can speed up from 0 to 60 mph in 7.6 seconds, an average pace for a V6-powered minivan.
