The Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU for short, is a series of movies and comic-book characters all based on Marvel comic books interconnected with each other. It has offered comic book and movie fans an immense world to enjoy and immerse themselves in for the last 13 years. Comic book fans already know that the cinematic universe is in its ‘Phase Four’ now and it’ll take charge for the next couple of years. With every movie, we either get introduced to a new hero, villain, or an interesting character that will probably play a significant role in the future. But car enthusiasts also get to see a new cool car in the movies.

Whether it is one of the cars in the billionaire Iron Man’s personal collection or the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. Nick Fury’s armored vehicle of choice, there are all types of awesome cars seen from time to time in these movies. Let’s take a look at some of the coolest ones from previous movies.

11 2019 Hyundai Veloster (Ant-Man And The Wasp)

via Blogspot.com

In the MCU, Dr. Hank Pym is known as the first-ever Ant-Man, a hero who wears a special suit that allows him to shrink down to the size of an ant, and increase his power along the way. His invention also allowed them to shrink other things, like a vehicle for example.

The 2019 Hyundai Veloster was one of Hank’s collection of cars that he’d shrunk down to the size of a Hotwheels car and kept in a case for emergencies. When we first saw the Veloster modified with custom exhaust, hood scoop, Goodyear Eagle tires, and a Purple vinyl with flames, we knew that people would remember this funky hot hatch.

Our protagonist, Shang-Chi, along with his friends and accomplices tries to escape from the headquarters of the evil organization Ten Rings. They reach the underground garage, and Shang’s friend Katy (who is like the car person in their group) admires their adversary Razorfist’s car’s design.

It’s a BMW iX3 with a custom front grille, and his name is written across the side doors. It’s the same car that our group uses to reach the mystical place, Ta Lo. Not only did the BMW end up helping the group remarkably but it also looked cool while doing so.

9 2007 Chevy Tahoe (Captain America: Winter Soldier)

Via YouTube

You might think that the Chevy Tahoe, while it’s a good SUV, is nothing that remarkable in the midst of supercars and classic coupes. But hear us out. It was so armored that it withstood literally hundreds of bullets fired at close range, and it took a direct explosive blast from underneath and still managed to keep Fury from much harm.

There’s a hidden weapon that unveils itself from the center armrest, and it was equipped with a personal AI that helped the owner, Nick Fury escape the bad guys. The modified and weaponized Tahoe used in Captain America’s second movie was enough to make us want to have one in real life.

8 2021 Audi E-Tron GT (Avengers: Endgame)

Audi has always been the primary choice of vehicle for Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man. So it makes sense that his last on-screen was an Audi. But it’s not just any Audi, it’s the E-Tron GT that debuted in 2021. Marvel and Audi were so close that they filmed Robert Downey Jr. driving Audi’s latest supercar when filming the movies in 2017-2018!

The particular E-Tron GT in the movie had the chassis code ‘F83’. The amusing part is, even though the E-Tron GT is all-electric, the one in the movie was given the sound of a combustion engine, perhaps to make Tony’s entrance in the scene more dramatic.

7 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C7 (Captain America: Winter Soldier)

Another awesome car in Captain America’s sequel makes its way here. This one can be seen much earlier in the movie than Samuel Jackson’s Chevy Tahoe. This absolutely stunning all-Black Corvette appears when fellow Avenger Black Widow (played by Scarlett Johansson) arrives to pick up Steve ‘Captain America’ Rogers.

The C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray was freshly designed when the movie came out, and many people saw it for the first time in the movie itself. Maybe that is one of the reasons why the C7 Corvette left a strong lasting impression on us today.

The Mustang King Cobra is a unique vehicle. Mechanically, it was one of Ford’s worst vehicles… ever. So, Marvel made it the vehicle of choice of the movie Villain. But visually, it was a one-of-a-kind mustang. Our hero, Peter Quill aka Star Lord’s father, Ego is a celestial being.

He is actually a living breathing planet (no, we’re not making this up). But he once gave himself a human body so that he could marry a woman and have a child. During his time on earth, he can be seen driving a Blue King Cobra Mustang with his wife, Meredith Quill.

By now you know that Tony Stark only drives Audi. But in The Avengers, he made an exception. After the end battle, when the heroes were going their separate ways, Tony could be seen driving an Acura NSX Roadster Concept from the same year.

In fact, just like the E-Tron GT and the Stingray we just saw, this was the first official sighting of the upcoming NSX. However, this one is a bit different because it was another four years before we started seeing the NSX on the streets in real life.

4 1995 Chevrolet Impala SS (Captain Marvel)

Driven by Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson)
via Mecum

The movie Captain Marvel is basically a 2 hour ‘90s nostalgia trip. The titular hero crash lands on a freakin’ Blockbuster for starters. You see her wearing Nine Inch Nails for a significant part of the movie. There are tons of ‘90s references like dial-up internet, payphones, Mallrats, and troll dolls.

via Mecum

But car guys will be reminded of their childhood or their parent’s cars when they see a younger Nick Fury and Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) riding in a black 1995 Chevy Impala SS. Turns out, America’s top spy fancied himself a badass, blacked-out, Corvette-powered sedan as his daily.

3 1941 Cadillac Series 62 (Captain America: The First Avenger)

via imcdb.org

The ‘41 Cadillac is already a gorgeous vehicle on its own. But what if it could fly? Tony Stark’s father, genius inventor Howard Stark was innovating advanced technology in the mid 20th Century when Captain America was active.

During an expo, Howard Stark displays a modified Series 62 but without wheels. It was an early prototype that Howard pioneered to stabilize flight. In fact, it was the same technology that his son Tony would later use in his Iron Man suits. Don’t know about you but we want a flying Cadillac right now.

2 Audi R8 (Iron Man 1,2 3, Avengers: Age Of Ultron)

The list cannot be complete without the R8, can it? It’s the de facto main ride of Tony Stark when he’s not flying as Iron Man. The fact that we see Tony driving one of these in all his solo movies, and in Avengers: Age Of Ultron proves our point even further.

Marvel associated GM with Captain America and his allies, while Audi was attached with Iron Man. So when the first movie came out, the R8 was among Audi’s best road-legal cars in their lineup, and seeing him drive an R8 helped establish that Tony is a wealthy man, and he has a great choice of cars.

1 1932 Ford Model B -Flathead Roadster (Iron Man)

via WallpaperAccess

This car is probably one of the oldest to be featured in the whole MCU, and also one of the most badass looking. In both Iron Man 1 & 2, it could be seen in Tony Stark’s garage. Tony Stark is a genius engineer and a pretty skilled mechanic.

via Iron Man Wiki

The Ford Model B instantly popped out of his impressive collection of cars. Complete with flame vinyl and an authentic Hot Rod look, it actually belongs to Iron Man (2008) director and Happy Hogan in MCU, Jon Favreau. It’s never seen on the road, but the mere appearance of this beauty was enough to top the list.
