How to resist the desire of owning—or at least driving—a muscle car? Those models from the muscle car golden era are particularly irresistible, and this is also a reason why some celebrities had, at least once, a muscle car in their garage. They simply look awesome whether they're preserved in stock condition or modified to some degree, embodying that retro-look that has never gone out of fashion. The following stunning muscle cars have some really cool people behind the steering wheel.
10 Lady Gaga’s 1969 Chevy Nova SS
Lady Gaga is considered the modern Queen of Pop, and her choice in terms of cars proves that she's also got a great taste in cars. Although she has been spotted with a Lamborghini, as well as with recent high-end cars, her love for classics is real.
Among her collection, there is this mint blue Chevy Nova SS. The "Super Sport" package means that Gaga is in charge of at least 350 hp. Those large American Torq Thrust rims give this car such a sick look.
9 Hugh Laurie’s 1966 Ford Galaxie 500
The worlds' most famous doctor, Gregory House, aka Hugh Laurie, drives one of the coolest muscle cars ever built. Although the Ford Galaxie isn't the most popular choice, it was one of the finest examples of high-end muscle cars in the mid-'60s. While gearheads would look at power only, those buying a Galaxie 500 were aware of the several amenities available on this car.
Power steering, disc brakes, power windows, and power driver's seat shows us just how well-specced these cars were. The car generally came with factory air conditioning. Also, wooden inlays on the dashboard and steering wheel made the Galaxie 500 stand out from the regular muscle cars. Great choice, doc.
8 Chris Evans's SpeedKore 1969 Chevrolet Camaro
Chris Evans is a cool guy, but some may know him as Captain America. This car was gifted to him by fellow avenger Robert Downey Jr. It's a one-of-a-kind restomod, a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro, which underwent a modification process in the capable hands of the SpeedKore crew.
The car packs a modified Chevrolet LS3 crate engine, which is mated to a Whipple 2.9-liter Supercharger. The transmission is a SuperMatic four-speed automatic, and it produces a super power figure of 730 hp.
7 Matthew McConaughey’s 1980 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
Matthew McConaughey doesn't really need a hypercar to look cool. A 1980 Chevy Camaro Z28 is enough for him. And sincerely speaking, who said '80s muscle cars aren't cool? Additionally, the car was a gift from his partner, Camila Alves, and truly was a well-appreciated one.
The 1980 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is packed with a 350 cubic-inch V8 engine; after all, this car was built after the mid-'70s gasoline crisis. Also, Matthew McConaughey's Z28 comes in such a beautiful aesthetic look—we can't stop staring at those ‘80s-esque decals on the car's sides.
6 Kendall Jenner’s 1969 Chevrolet Camaro
Kendal Jenner, like most of the people in her family, has a special relationship with cars. Although there are many Lambos in her family's collection, they own some stunning examples of muscle cars, too. One of the coolest examples is this 1969 Chevy Camaro restomod.
The Camaro has a total blacked-out look. To emphasize the car's aggressive shape, front lights have been replaced with hideaways, while the rear ones have been tinted black. Even the large rims are matte black.
5 Justin Timberlake's 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible
Justin Timberlake seems like a busy guy. When he doesn't sing, he acts. When filming Trouble with the Curve, he became addicted to classic cars. As soon as he could, he got himself a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, restored it, and now it looks so clean.
In 1967, the GTO was powered by a standard 6.4-liter engine that could make 335 hp. A higher output version was available, and its horsepower figure reached 360. Of course, we don't know whether Jessica Biel was impressed by those numbers or not, but we're sure she enjoyed a ride in this car.
4 Post Malone’s 1966 Lincoln Continental
Post Malone is famous for his eccentric choices in terms of style. Some years ago, when he only had a few face-tattoos, he commissioned WestCoast Customs to build him a really cool car. The result was this 1966 Lincoln Continental.
Possibly inspired by a 1963 Gibson SG Custom guitar, which is highly desired by the singer. The Gibson came with white paint and gold hardware, and this Continental was painted candy white, and it features tons of gold details. The rims are huge and finished in bright gold, perhaps matching with Malone's jewelry.
3 Robert Downey Jr's SpeedKore 1970 Ford Mustang
Robert Downey Jr. is known across the globe for his role as Tony Stark, or Iron Man. Clearly, this car wasn't chosen to save the world, but simply because it seems like SpeedKore makes some of the most stunning restomods around.
The car is packing a Ford Performance Aluminator 5.0-liter V8 Engine mated to a Stage 2 Ford Performance/Roush Supercharger. The result is a modern hypercar soul in a classy and clean '70 Mach 1 body.
2 Kristen Stewart’s 1968 Ford Mustang
We would never expect Kristen Stewart to drive a pink Volkswagen Beetle, and that evil look she has behind the wheel of that Mustang confirms it. Those frames are taken from the Ride 'Em On Down music video, a song composed and performed by the legendary rock band The Rolling Stones.
About legendary things, this 1968 blue Ford Mustang looks so good. In the video, Kristen Stewart seems like she wants to take it to the limit, performing one burnout after the other—she really gets crazy with it. Just sit back, and enjoy.
1 Jay Leno’s 1966 Dodge Coronet
Jay Leno is a comedian and car collector. He is a reference point to almost every gearhead, and is considered a real mentor among fans. Thanks to his YouTube show, which centers around him and his cars, we know pretty much everything. The only things we're not so sure about are the real number of cars he possesses and the real number of his jeans shirts.
What we do know is that this 1966 Dodge Coronet is one of the most outstanding examples of muscle cars parked in his garage. Hemi-powered, this is one of the cleanest and best looking we've ever witnessed. Dark metallic green paint and "dog dish" wheel hubs prove once again that Jay has the best stuff.
