You might well be wondering what on earth the term 'donked' means. If you were lucky enough to never have witnessed an old, beat-up car that has been equipped with massive shiny wheels, you'll want to stick around for this one.

Donking is one of those old and ridiculous car fads that was born in America as a way to "pimp out" boring and ordinary cars. The wheels that have been placed on these "donked out" cars are not just big; they're ridiculously massive! And as if that wasn't bad enough, these cars are also painted in crazy colors or fitted with ridiculous mods to make them stand out even more.

Donking is one of those unfortunate fads that no one with an ounce of taste would ever consider to look good - on any car. This is why it's horrifying to see supercars and sports cars fall victim to this trend. And in this list, we have compiled some of the most nightmarish photos of supercars and performance cars that have been donked out.

14 Too Big For Its Fenders

via Car Throttle

It was only a matter of time before someone decides to desecrate one of America's favorite sports cars - the Corvette. And indeed, with its popularity and ubiquity on the market, it's hardly surprising. It's still horrifying to look at, knowing that there's someone out there who actually thinks this makes the Corvette look better.

13 A Ruined Lamborghini

via Car Throttle

Okay, you thought it was bad enough to see a Corvette donked out, well how about a Lamborghini? Well, that is precisely what has happened here. This poor Lambo, a brand known for producing crazy good-looking machines, has been pulverized by this horrifically donked out wheels. Every ounce of its amazing performance was removed, turning this once-beautiful raging bull into a laughing stock.

12 A Donked Out Eclipse

via Reddit

This poor Mitsubishi Eclipse has had its soul ripped out of it to create this outlandish creation. The wheels are fairly standard compared to some of the donked machines that have made this list, but on a compact JDM car, they look ugly as sin.

11 This Mazda RX-8

via True Street Cars

The RX-8, of course, was the last rotary engine machine to be sold in the United States. A successor to the iconic rotary-engine RX-7, this beautiful JDM car was meant to take on corners in race-spec tires, not ride on these... things.

The Mazda Miata MX-5 is one of the most affordable and best small sports cars out there. Not just for its overall driving experience, but for how comfortable it is and how great it looks. So to add donking to the mix when we have one of these cars, surely it's not going to end well? Sadly for this MX-5, it's not ended well at all. It doesn't help that it just looks like a terrible job has been made out of this donk attempt.

9 Another Poor Corvette

via Corvette Forums

If there is one thing that is worse than seeing a Chevrolet Corvette get donked out, it is seeing a classic Chevrolet Corvette get the treatment as well. The Corvette has been a popular car ever since its launch in 1953, although that car did have its drawbacks. Seeing one messed around with like this is a crying shame; they don’t deserve to be treated like this.

8 Chevy Chevelle Super Sport

The Chevelle SS is a street-legal drag monster from the '70 and a highly collectible classic today. However, it will hardly do any racing in these orange things. The owner will never get to experience the thrill of driving one of these - and they probably deserve it.

7 Not Even The Enzo Was Spared

via Car Throttle

Okay, this is not an actual donk that has taken place but it was so crazy to see I thought it was worth sharing regardless. The Ferrari Enzo is one of the best Ferraris ever made, no question. But turning it into a nightmarish machine is as easy as donking it out.

6 A Ruined Mustang

via Diablo Wheels

If you're one of the millions of fans of the Mustang, look away. This thankfully is a modern variant, and even then it is surely a criminal offense to do something like this to such a wonderful machine. I can't believe this has actually been done!

5 Dodge Challenger

via Pinterest

The new challenger has stayed true to its muscle car roots and sports a retro-looking design paired with impressive power under the hood. However, this owner decided to throw all that away and turn it into a ridiculous doll car with massive wheels that render whatever is under the hood useless. No words.

4 Another Ruined Sports Car

It seems that this classic Stingray got more than it bargained for. Not only are those wheels definitely going to have trouble moving at any reasonable speed but the driver already looks uncomfortable inside the tight cabin, to begin with. Hopefully, after a few bumps, he realizes his mistake.

3 A Donked Out Nissan

The bad paint job is the least of this Nissan's worries. Apparently, showing off his massive rims is more important to the owner than the actual performance of the car. The only question to be asked here is, why then opt for a JDM sports car in the first place?

2 Chevrolet Camaro

Camaros are easily one of the most popular performance cars out on the market. They are easily recognizable, somewhat affordable, and fast. Now here, the color scheme looks great. But looking at those wheels makes you wish you could never see it again. There is way too much going on with this car.

1 A Skyline Turned Useless

via Car Throttle

This is by far the worst of all the donked out machines here. It has to be, right? The Nissan Skyline is one of my favorite sports cars, be it in R34 or R32 form. And this is an R32. These machines are amazing platforms for modification and can take on corners like few other cars can - or could, at least...
