According to the newly filed European type-approval papers, it’s clear that the 2022 CB500X has undergone a set of updates. If you loved the 2020 and 2021 editions, then you might want to check out the updates on the 2022 Honda CB500X. The papers from the EU reveal that the primary parts of the bike are the same. The 2022 Honda CB500X still maintains the 47hp.

Also, the 471cc parallel-twin engine does not display any sign of power or torque alternative. However, this new edition of the CB500X is slightly heavier than the previous edition. From 434 pounds in weight, it becomes 438 pounds. This is a reason to believe that the bike will have a larger fuel tank, hence the weight increase.

According to the type-approved specifications, the bike’s styling (dimensions) stays the same. The 2022 Honda CB500X will have a slight increase in its length and height. The increase is from 33.5 inches from older editions to 32.7 as part of its newest updates. There will be an extra brake disc in the front and there may be broader handlebars. It's the bike’s main alteration and the EU documents confirm this.RELATED: This Is What We Love About The Honda CB 500 X

Before this modification, older models of Honda CB500X relied on a single front disc plus a two-piston caliper. The bike will now carry a twin-disc setup, an upgrade from the previous single front disc. There aren't any specifics on the brakes’ size and caliper arrangement but the brakes won't be the same.

This upgrade implies that the forks and wheels will receive updates because previous editions did not have a provision for an additional disk nor a caliper positioned on the left-hand side. There are chassis updates for the 2022 CB500X, fresh lighter wheels that have slimmer castings for the spokes, and a new back swingarm. This addition is manufactured from thinner steel and the other is an indented cross member to optimize performance and flexibility. The bike’s LED headlights are extra strong while the indicator positions have been modified to improve visibility for the rider.

The biggest change is the addition of the preload-adjustable Showa 41mm front forks. The bike’s rear shock will also be upgraded to meet the needs of the new forks. The bike’s rear shock will also feature a new setup to meet the needs of the new forks and it will be adjustable as well. See this video to catch a glimpse of the Honda CB500X's gorgeous wonder.

Don't expect to see the updates in the bike’s exterior look, but there will be something different for you to enjoy. There will be an extra brake disc in the front and there may be broader handlebars. These updates are important as they will enhance the bike’s all-around performance.
