The current Dodge Challenger is among the most handsome muscle cars on the market. It boasts a distinct style and plenty of power. The Dodge Challenger is also extremely dazzling, thanks to its muscular exterior and iconic face.

Like most of its muscle car rivals, the Challenger has an excellent road presence. For the 2023 model year, Dodge has added another model to the Last Call lineup, the Challenger Black Ghost. While it's a great nod to the 70s Challenger, it's a force to reckon with thanks to a punchy 807 hp 6.2-liter supercharged V8.

Dodge aims to mimic the paint of the 2023 Black Ghost to its 70s predecessor. To achieve this, all Black Ghost owners will get a Pitch Black exterior color.

The blacked-out look helps give the Black Ghost a super cool retro feel. It also helps keep us at the edge of our seats waiting for the 7th model of the Last Call lineup.

9 Chrome Exterior Touches

Besides getting the Pitch Black treatment, the Challenger Black Ghost will have additional exterior touches. One of these will include chrome Dodge badging. Other touches include black Mopar hood pins and a midnight metallic SRT grille badge.

Dodge also adds Challenger lettering, white rear fender graphics, and white fuel caps to the side exterior. The bottom half part of the Challenger Black Ghost gets unique flavors like Brembo six-piston black calipers and 20-inch satin carbon warp-speed wheels.

While most modern cars boast carbon fiber roofs, the Black Ghost aims to outdo any other vehicle with a gator skin vinyl roof.

Not only is the roof design unique, but it borrows from the design of its predecessor. The Black Ghost aims to replicate almost every design aspect of the 70s Challenger R/T SE.

Dodge will also add an SRT logo to the Alcántara steering wheel. As for the instrument panel, the Black Ghost will receive a special 'Black Ghost' badge. This will include a gator scale pattern, the iconic Dodge Fratzog logo, and carbon fiber bezels.

Dodge had to look back to the 1970 Challenger R/T SE from Godfrey Qualls to create the 2023 Challenger Black Ghost. Godfrey was a Detroit motorcycle police whose 70s Challenger had a legendary status for attending stoplight drag races.

Godfrey and his Challenger frequented the local strips where he would win and disappear into the night. The original Black Ghost got into the National Historic Vehicle Register in 2020. That's after Godfrey's son, Gregory, helped return it to road-worthy status.

Dodge uses the widebody SRT Hellcat Redeye as the base platform for the Challenger Black Ghost. The only difference is that the Black Ghost will produce more power than the Hellcat Redeye, making it an ideal solution for power-hungry enthusiasts.

When launched, the Hellcat Redeye Widebody dominated the road. It had plenty of personality and a serious punch under the hood. Its wide fenders had 3.5 inches of extra width over the standard model – giving it a more menacing stance and better stability.

3 The Price

Since you can get the widebody SRT Hellcat Redeye model for around $85,745, its no doubt that the Black Ghost will be a bit pricier. That's because of the multiple changes Dodge has made to the exterior and interior of the Black Ghost.

In addition, the 10 hp increase will also contribute to the performance increase. While we expect around a $10,000 price increase, Dodge Garage claims the price will be $99,315.

Like every other Last Call model, Dodge plans to produce a limited number of the Challenger Black Ghost. The brand will only make 300 units, all of which will sell for over $90,000.

In addition, these models will get the Pitch Black exterior paint and a faux black gator skin roof. Unlike most models in the Last Call lineup, Dodge won't offer another color combination for the Black Ghost.

The Challenger Black Ghost packs serious power under its hood to keep in the theme of its mighty predecessor. It features the same engine as the SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody, a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 motor.

The powerplant produces 10 more ponies, pushing the total figure to 807 hp. This makes the Black Ghost an excellent muscle car and helps it become the most powerful muscle car, sitting next to the Challenger SRT Super Stock.
