The Netflix series Car Masters: Rust to Riches is filmed at Gotham Garage in California, where owner Mark Towle and his team work their magic on vintage cars that have seen better days, transforming them into modern classics.
Towle’s background was in the movies, where he built props for films and TV shows, although he found himself on the losing end of a lawsuit for selling Batmobile copies in 2013. When he set up Gotham Garage, he set about assembling the best designers and mechanics to join him.
One of those talented mechanics is Constance Nunes who, as viewers of Car Masters will know, is much more than a pretty face.
10 Nunes Has Worked In The Car Industry For A Long Time
Constance Nunes may look like a supermodel, but the truth is that she loves to get her hands dirty and has worked with and around cars for a long time. Her passion for all things automotive started at a young age; her dad was a drag racer, and she used to help him work on his cars.
Before getting her dream job at Gotham Garage, Nunes had also worked in the service departments of several well-known car manufacturers, including BMW, Audi, and Ford.
9 She Is Setting Up Her Own Auto Business
In fact, the Portuguese-American star is even in the process of setting up her own auto business, which allows her to work on custom car projects of her choosing outside of Gotham Garage.
Nunes loves to work on old American muscle cars, another automotive passion she inherited from her father, and Cars by Constance specializes in creating custom muscle cars for clients. With the success of Cars Masters: From Rust to Riches, chances are that Cars by Constance will have no shortage of customers as Nunes expands her business.
8 Out Of The Garage Nunes Has Worked As A Model
Unsurprisingly, Constance Nunes has done a lot of work on the side as a model, including working as a car show girl at several prestigious automotive events - where she probably knows more about the vehicles on display than the experts!
Nunes has also done work on international campaigns by major fashion brands, modeling for Wrangler, Reebok, and Jockey. Fixing up old cars is more of a passion than a way to make your fortune, and her modeling work helps Nunes to supplement the income she makes from working at Gotham Garage and her own business.
7 And Has Even Done Some Stunt Work On Movies
We have already seen that Constance Nunes has much more to offer than just her looks, and her tomboy image goes beyond being an experienced mechanic and life-long gearhead. She also featured in a few Hollywood movies in her teenage years, using her skills as a stunt performer rather than in acting roles.
Nunes performed stunts in teen comedy Bring It On when she would have been just 10-years-old, and a few years later she was back in front of the camera in the 2004 movie Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.
6 Nunes Featured In A Superbowl Ad For Kia Cars
Aside from her appearances as a key member of the Gotha, Garage team on Car Masters: Rust to Riches, one of the highlights of Nunes’ career was probably when she featured in a Superbowl ad.
While this wasn’t a starring role, getting the chance to be seen by the millions of people who watch the event on TV every year is great exposure. Nunes was a bit-part player in an advert for Kia cars featuring Hollywood star Christopher Walken which aired during Superbowl 50 in 2016.
5 Her First Car Was A 1964 Ford Mustang
Nunes’ obsession with classic vintage cars goes back to her teenage years. She bought a 1964.5 Ford Mustang when she was just 16-years-old and has always been clear that her model is a 1964.5 Mustang and not just a plain old 1964!
Nunes has worked on the car in her spare time in the 14 years since she bought the car, insisting on using authentic 1964.5 Mustang parts. She has even kept the old AM radio rather than upgrading to a 21st century stereo system.
4 She Has Over 800,000 Followers On Instagram
Thanks to her success on Car Masters and her status as an automotive pin-up, Nunes has gathered over 800,000 followers on Instagram and almost 18,000 followers on Twitter. It was her fans on social media who nicknamed her 1964.5 Mustang the Babystang, a name which has Constance has embraced with open arms for her treasured vehicle.
Her Instagram account is a mix of glamorous bikini shots from her work as a model next to pictures of a greased-up Nunes up to her elbows in an engine.
3 Nunes Gets A Lot Of Crazy Pickup Lines On Her Instagram
Constance has been modeling since she was a teenager and is proud to post photos of herself in what many would describe as revealing outfits on her Instagram account. This inevitably leads to a lot of rather flirtatious messages from males fans, as well as some really cheesy pick-up lines!
Having worked in a male-dominated industry all her life, Nunes is well-equipped to deal with any unwanted attention and is always prepared to stand up to any male admirers who might take things too far.
2 However, She Married Boyfriend Jared Toller In 2019
Constance’s army of fans may be disappointed to learn that the model mechanic is now very happily married, having tied the knot with her boyfriend, Jared Toller, in February 2019. This was no ordinary wedding, however, as the bride elected to wear a stunning see-through black dress, rather than the usual traditional white.
Of course, Nunes’ 1964.5 Ford Mustang also had a part to play on the couple’s important day. Toller and Nunes had been together for over eight years before they finally decided to get hitched at Newhall Mansion in Piru, California.
1 The Star Is Estimated To Have A Net Worth Of $1 Million
Car Masters: Rust to Riches has only been on Netflix for two seasons, although fans are hoping that a third season will soon be announced by the streaming service. However, Constance has several sources of income alongside her wages at Gotham Garage, profits from Cars by Constance, and her share of the money from Netflix.
She can command significant sums for personal appearances at auto shows, thanks to her increased profile, and it is estimated that she now has a net worth of around $1 million.
