Ferrari recently unveiled a unique coupe that’s said to be based on the legendary Ferrari GTC4Lusso. This 2021 Ferrari BR20 comes with an athletic look complemented by new styling cues, lots of luxury refinements, and a powerful V12 engine. Oh, and one more thing, it’s a one-off model designed for the Italian automaker’s client, so there won’t be anything else like it.

The new Ferrari BR20 boasts a new grille with the iconic and signature prancing horse in the center, blending with the extended bonnet and new, lower headlights. At the top, the BR20 has a sloping roofline that maximizes its aero dynamism, making it worthy of a fastback tag. The Ferrari is based on the discontinued GTC4Lusso and gets a few styling elements that slightly reference the 1950s 500 Superfast.

The 2021 Ferrari BR20 is guaranteed to be every sports car enthusiast’s new dream car. Read on to know more about the new BR20’s exterior design elements, specs, and interior features.

The 2021 Ferrari BR20 Has A Thought-provoking And Photogenic Appearance

The Ferrari BR20 boasts an all-new appearance that expresses its bold and aggressive character. While this Ferrari is said to be based GTC4Lusso, there are no apparent visual elements that emphasize the relation between the two. The two-seater sports car steers clear of any retro design prompt. On top of that, the BR20’s exterior design strays away from its entire Ferrari family. However, we can still spot some subtle styling cues that pay respect to the classic 500 superfast.

At the front, the BR20 has a new larger grille, which highlights the brand’s identity and adds a new sense of three-dimensionality. The BR20’s front also features a redesigned bonnet which has a sleeker shape and -thanks to the 3-inch-extended overall body shape – is now longer.

Aside from the new body refinements, most of the visual elements and add-ons on the Ferrari BR20 have been designed exclusively for this one-off model. That includes the new 20" tone-on-tone diamond-finish wheels, and Its new and smaller headlights, which now hang a little lower compared to its acclaimed GTC4Lusso sibling.

The BR10 exterior styling is also complemented by the all-new rear bumper. We also appreciate the redesigned taillights that - like the headlights – are now located lower and blend in very well with the new twin exhaust tips, for a bolder rear bespoke fashion. Overall, the Ferrari BR20 has an aerodynamic appeal that demonstrates its high value and performance.

A Sporty Interior That Vaunts Its Fresh Style And Dynamism

Sports car interiors are extremely important. Like the powertrain, the interior in all supercars deserves the most attention, and when done right, the interior can bring out the best in the sports car. Generally speaking, the best interior is supposed to offer the most practical, versatile, and luxurious experience possible - something that most sports car brands fail to achieve.

The interior of the BR20 is filled with luxury paddings that bring a special sense of elegance to its inner atmosphere. The inside gets most of its cues from last year’s GTC4Lusso except for a few things.

First of all, the two rear seats are no longer available. Instead, all you’ll find is an arch segment that’s extended to touch both sides of the interior, filling the entire rear seat area.

This arch is surrounded by an all-leather housing and has been connected to the armrests between the driver and passenger seat. This rear area has been pushed further back to maximize the reclining angle of the two front seats for an extra-sleek appearance.

The extended body construction means that this BR20 offers more cabin volume, which means additional inches of legroom, headroom, and so on. Much like the exterior, the inside of the BR20 has received major modifications. The teasing images boast an entirely new impression of the Brand’s creativity.

Netcarshow.com reported that the BR20 seems to be taking on a "flying buttress" theme. Some parts of the BR20’s interior pay homage to the classic 599 GTB Fiorano (which was discontinued in 2012), and it carries the DNA traits of the Ferrari GT line-up. The roof comes in stunning black paint, which blends in with the rear screen and tailgate for a visually-appealing finish.

When it comes to supercar engines, Ferrari is lightyears ahead of the rest. The brand’s legendary powertrains are the reasons why the 488 Pista GTB is the most-dominating supercar, and why the prevailing 812 Superfast is ever so mighty. And the fact that the once-famous classic Pontiac Firebird Pegasus had a Ferrari engine, or that all Maserati cars produced from 1993 are propelled by a Ferrari engine, says a lot about Ferrari’s powertrains. They are that good.

As of today, the numbers and specifications regarding the BR20’s engine haven’t been released yet. But from what we know so far, the 2021 Ferrari BR20 is equipped with a powerful V12 engine. Since the BR20 is built based on the GTC4Lusso sibling, we expect it to take on most of its powertrain and drivetrain specifications.

Recall, the GTC4Lusso was propelled by a 6.3-liter V12 engine, which produced up to 681 hp at 8,000 rpm and 516 lb-ft of torque at 5,750 RPM. Its drivetrain consisted of 7-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system. The BR20 will likely accede to the same specs.

Sadly, the production of the GTC4Lusso was axed last year. Nothing about a new GTC4Lusso was heard since. The 2021 Ferrari BR20 is set to carry on the Ferrari heritage and might be a perfect successor to the mighty GTC4Lusso after all.
