Gavin of YouTube channel itsjusta6 just uploaded a new video unveiling his 2,000-hp 5.2-liter twin-turbo Ford S550 Mustang. After seven long months of waiting and anticipating, the moment’s finally here, and it’s worth it.

“I think everyone can look at their life and think about one crucial decision that changed things forever, whether it be taking a job or maybe you dropped out of school, or maybe you broke up with a girlfriend or whatever, for me, it was buying this car,” Gavin confessed.

When the video begins, just after he gives a heartwarming speech about how much the car has changed his life, he goes ahead and warns new viewers that it hasn't been a bed of roses owning the Mustang.

An Unfortunate Series of Engine Blow Ups

Gavin has had his fair share of engine misfortunes. When he says his relationship with the Mustang wasn’t rosy, it wasn’t.

The original motor blew up at a race event after quitting school and working to pursue YouTube full-time. He got a new stock motor and upgraded it with new wheels, tires, brakes, and a supercharger upgrade to make a 9-second pass at the strip. It worked.

The second motor success was short-lived and blew up while he was racing demonology. Before it blew up, it had done a 9.71-second pass at the strip, with a potential to run even faster. Luckily, he had a new engine waiting.

The next engine was a 1,500 hp rated engine that failed multiple times. At the first event, it had a knock. While the builders were sorting that issue out, he got a Coyote engine from a local builder that also failed due to a bad batch of e-85.

Gavin’s new setup for his S550 Mustang is a twin-turbo setup. He admits the Supercharger setup had many issues that almost led to completely giving up on the car. The new setup was explicitly built to go to a twin-turbo setup.

Its RPG level-4 2,000-hp third generation 5.2-liter sleeved engine. It comes with a Boss 302 5-0 crankshaft that has been micro-polished and cryogenically treated. It’s also double keyed—it’s extremely strong.

It also comes with RPG spec 5.2-liter extreme duty pistons, Oliver ultra-billet steel I-beam rods, ring set, main and rod bearings, RPG billet oil squirter block offs, ARP main studs, ARP 12-millimeter head studs, GT 500 head gaskets from the new predator engine among others.

The heads are ported by Frankenstein, with oversized valves and titanium retainers. The engine has cams, and they have been locked out for amazing turbo-chops. Gavin says there is a lot of good things going on in the heads of his new engine.

“The long story short of it is that this engine has parts from the GT500, Predator engines, from the Coyote, from literally a bunch of different platforms all coming together and using the best of each to make a 2,000-hp capable engine,” Gavin revealed.
