Renderings are cool ways for graphic designers with cars on the brain to express themselves and imagine the possibilities of what their favorite ride would look like if the exterior is tweaked a bit. European supercar renderings are especially fun to view since the real-world versions of those vehicles were designed with an artistic bent in the first place. A fancier fender rendering simply accentuates that mentality. But when it comes to muscle cars from Detroit, there's always an old-school contingent warning designers to avoid playing with fire. Despite some support, Czech designer Rostislav Prokop certainly got some different feedback regarding his Chevrolet Corvette C8 rendering that debuted Tuesday on Instagram.

This C8 Rendering Has A Front Engine

Some designers have taken liberties with Corvette designs, including one who rendered a C8 with a split rear window. Another one came up with a look for a C7 with a front engine, which was what Prokop did with his C8 rendering. In Prokop's design, the Corvette's front has the hood bubbling upwards to house the engine, normally in the rear, a vivid departure from the flatness the vehicle has displayed in the past.

But Prokop didn't stop there, as he made the front fenders over the wheels more bulbous, creating a wider look for the car. And since there's no need for air intake for the rear engine, the rear exterior surrounding the back wheels is narrower than a real C8. While on the subject of the rear, it's shorter with its spoiler more exaggerated and the four exhaust nozzles grouped in the middle as opposed to two on each side.

Within the space of a day, the Corvette received nearly 24,000 views, with a few respondents plastering a thumbs-up emojis on the page as a sign of approval. "I like that a lot," commented one viewer. "Not necessarily a C8 but a C7 with a body kit. I think the front engine gives it more of a Corvette vibe." Chimed in another, "Nice work."

But others weren't as kind, especially one person who wrote "Rename it anything else but don't mess with pure Americana." Equally adamant was another viewer, commenting "That looks awful. Why waste the time to design this?"

Kudos For Renderings Of BMW, Mustang, And More

Despite some of the nay-sayers, Prokop has an admirable track record for satisfying his social media audience. He's received plenty of kudos for renderings of such vehicles as a BMW M4, a Firebird GTA, a Dodge Charger, and a Mustang Mach 1, which especially received plenty of raves.
