Owning a Ferrari is a dream for many of us. They are some of the most exotic and desirable cars in the world, as well as being some of the fastest. But one slight issue is the price. Ferraris are, of course, not cheap and can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy. So, if you can’t afford one but want one, what can you do? Well, YouTuber NHET TV from Vietnam decided to build one and showcase that build online from start to finish in a time-lapse over 60 days.

Ferrari's Body Made Of Fiberglass And Composite Glue

The whole video is around 30 minutes so we will try and pick out some of the highlights. NEHT TV showcases the construction of the car in the first segment of the video, putting together the frame and chassis before moving onto the bodywork being attached and spray painted. The frame appears to be all steel and then fiberglass and glue makes up the majority of the paneling. Once this is all finished and painted, the car looks, well, like a Ferrari! It is clearly not the real thing but it is a very good effort that's been inspired by the real Ferrari 488.

The video shows the owner driving the car through the Vietnamese countryside. It is quite clear that it is not a Ferrari, especially from the engine note. The power-unit in this car is a simple air-cooled diesel engine that probably makes more noise than the real 488. Other YouTubers from across the world have watched the car being built and admire the effort and time that NHET has put into creating it. They ask for the opinions of others on their drive around Vietnam with many praising the car and how close it looks to the real thing. The owner claims it can go up to 60 km/h when fully unleashed.

Minor Mishap Could Have Dented The Ferrari

There is, however, one slight mishap at the end of the video. They are having to push the car over main public roads as it is technically not road legal, and through a village, they accidentally push the car into the side of a house! Thankfully, it was a slight bump, and probably a good thing that it wasn’t a genuine Ferrari. The project has even been shared by Supercar Blondie, and best of all it took only $1,000 to create so that is a big saving on an actual Ferrari!
