JR Garage has released a video on YouTube of a red C5 Chevrolet Corvette that has sat in their shop for two years receiving a new Billy Boat exhaust system. After the upgrade, the Corvette is louder and more aggressive sounding and after a cleaning inside and out, they plan to give away the Corvette.

The C5 Sees Light After A Two-Year Hibernation

Initially, the red C5 Corvette gets lowered from a lift at the JR garage in dusty condition, the result of having sat in the garage for two years. Following an overnight charge, the Corvette manages to fire right up and after receiving some air for the tires, it takes a drive to Performance Muffler in Arizona where it receives its exhaust upgrade.

Initially, the Corvette is “very stock sounding” but that is all set to change after the modification that is essentially “almost fully straight piped.” The Corvette will forego a muffler after the upgrade, but will keep the catalytic converter so that it is able to pass emissions tests.

From Quiet And Dusty To Striking And Loud

After picking it up from the shop, the car is noticeably louder and in no way sounds like a stock Corvette any longer. On the drive back to the shop, the Corvette requires a stop at the gas station for a fill up, and a fan who happens to be at the station comments that the Corvette sounds like the Cadillac CTS-V that he owns. The new exhaust system makes a significant difference to the sound of the Corvette, the extent of which can be fully heard on a few drives up and down a straight road in the video.

Once they are back at the shop, they give the Corvette a wash and clean the interior, removing layers of dust that have built up over the last two years. Despite its time sitting in the garage, the engine bay remains nearly spotless from the last time it received a clean years before.

The video briefly cuts away to a Porsche 944 that will serve as a parts car by JR garage, the sports car unfortunately cannot be salvaged from years of animals making their home under the hood and exposure to the Arizona sun. Thankfully, the body remains in good enough shape to help to save other Porsche 944s.

JR Garage will be giving away the C5, more details related to the giveaway are on their Instagram channel.
