Shawn Davis of AutotopiaLA does an amazing job at showcasing some pretty incredible builds on his YouTube channel. Often many of these cars are in fact restomodded to perfection, and all of them are pretty wild. This particular one is certainly in that category. It is a 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 that belongs to John, and he has done plenty of modifications to it. Not least is the fact that this car now produces a pretty spectacular 760 hp at the wheels.

Diving Into This Epic Corvette ZR1

John is usually a bit more of a JDM guy, but this is a car that he absolutely loves. With that in mind, there are a lot of changes to this car. Stock, it makes 638 hp. First of all, there is now a smaller pulley on this car and a full header back exhaust. These were the two first things John did to the car. The pulley is a 2.45 pulley to be exact. But those were just the easy bolt-ons. Next up came the Stage 3 BTR cam package, and the titanium valve springs and retainers. The car is now on E85 fuel thanks to the full flex-fuel kit.

At the wheels, this car makes an astonishing 762 hp. And that is on a very hot and muggy day. Davis loves the car, which is Jet Stream Blue, and John had to go searching for months to find the color he wanted. Amazingly, the carbon fiber features are all stock on the car too. And thanks to its straight-pipe titanium exhaust, this Corvette is just pure noise. But what is this ZR1 like to drive?

Davis goes for a spin with John in the car to experience it for himself. And the power just comes on instantly, and violently as well. John says every gear is like that too, and you need to be ready for it. Davis is pretty much in awe and instantly loves the car after only a few minutes in the passenger seat. It is incredibly intense and just pulls hard, and you can see how intense it is on Davis' face. This Corvette looks like a handful to drive, while also being a lot of fun, too.
