The Ford Transit is one of the world's most iconic vans, and certainly, one of the longest serving vans in the world. Various models have come and gone, and on occasion there have been some special versions. We don’t think there will ever be something like this, though. Talented digital renderer on Instagram @jlord8 has created this rather epic rendering of a Ford Transit that has become something of a “Transit Raptor,” in relation to the Bronco Raptor that we saw released just a few days ago.

The Similarities And Differences Of The Transit

There are still plenty of features on this Transit that are similar to the original. The overall body shape is clearly identifiable as the Transit. However, things do soon start to change. While the general shape of the grille area is the same as on a regular Transit, the van now has the Ford lettering across the front and the grille design does now resemble that of the Bronco Raptor. Underneath the front grille area is a guard to protect against underside damage, not a feature normally on a Transit.

Larger Tires And Further Bodywork Changes

The amendments to the Transit do not stop there. The tires the van now sits on are clearly much, much bigger than what you would see on a regular Transit. The wheel arches are black and wider, while the gap around the wheels is bigger too. This is no doubt to accommodate the extra suspension movement that will be there if the van goes off-road. These dramatically alter the stance of the Transit van and turn it into something much, much different compared to the standard model.

An Epic Change To The Transit

The changes to the Transit are certainly quite eye-catching. The idea of an off-road van is an interesting one, and the Transit is of course the classic Ford van. Further changes to the van are visible at the back, with bigger, black wheel arches and Raptor lettering and claw scratches affixed to the bodywork to emphasize the van's new Raptor status. And all the changes combine to give the new van quite the aggressive stance and appearance. It does make you wonder what the market might be like if Ford were ever to introduce such a creation.
