Hollywood and car culture have always gone hand-in-hand, since the days of James Dean and Steve McQueen to Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld more recently. Paul Newman was another huge star who loved to race cars, while Patrick Dempsey even has his own racing team in the modern era. But besides the A-listers, what about the Tinseltown workers behind the scenes? Well, as a new feature from Porsche reveals, everyone in Hollywood seems to love their cars if Armin Pohl, a visual effects designer who worked on Game of Thrones, can be used as an example.

Pohl's company Mackevision is conveniently located in Stuttgart, so Porsche features prominently in his collection of two dozen cars—but his taste runs the gamut from modern supercars to American classics, as well. Pohl joined Mackevision in 1995 and acquired the company in 2006. Big-name projects have included Game of Thrones, for which Mackevision worked on major elements including buildings and ships on the way to a 2014 Emmy win, plus recent series like Watchmen and Lost in Space.

A wide range of cars show up in the photos, including the Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo seen above. But Pohl's collection starts and ends with his Porsche 928 GTS, about which he said, "Of all the cars here, only the 928 offers everything: aesthetics, driving pleasure, design, suitability for everyday use – a truly sensational combination."

Other visible highlights include a Lamborghini Miura, Alfa Romeo Montreal, Ford GT40, and a Dino Ferrari. American members of the collection range from a Pontiac GTO to a modern Dodge Challenger. “I like sitting in a car and having the feeling that this is what I am, here and now, on this day. Like having your clothing match your mood,” said Pohl. “Every car reflects the spirit of its time. They are as dramatically different as parts of my own personality.”
