The Lexus LX 600 has become considerably leaner than its predecessors. The new flagship SUV from Toyota Motor Corporation has been revealed as a luxurious alternative to its high-end rivals. A premier sibling to the 300-series Land Cruiser, it will be on the market next year, and it offers luxury with an opulent rear-seat arrangement. The new model looks like it shall have impressive off-roading capabilities too.

The all-new LX 600 sports a luxury-filled interior and a torrent of tech and infotainment upgrades besides a formidable power boost compared to the previous models. It could very well be the role model for the future generation of big, luxurious SUVs.

The LX600 preserves its body-on-frame construction but has lost a claimed 441 pounds compared to the older model. Even though the car sports the same chunky shape as the previous generations, it has a masculine look that will draw attention on the road. The modern detailing, the hunky bonnet hood, and a spindle grille house sleek headlamps are better integrated into the front-end design to give an imposing aura. The company offers large 18-inch alloy wheels as standard, but customers have the option to upgrade to larger alloy wheels that range up to 22-inches. The ‘L’ badge is replaced by the ‘LEXUS’ branding at the rear. The F Sport model adds a Torsen limited-slip differential in the back and an altered tuning for the dampers. Various seating arrangements are offered for the car, with the base trim offering a two-row setup that seats up to five people. The F Sport, Luxury, and Premium all have a three-row setup with seven seats, and the third row can be folded flat on the floor too. This is in contrast to the older model, which would fold aside to the cargo area.

The new Ultra Luxury version offers an indulgent four-seat setup with two VIP chairs in the rear that recline backward and provide a footrest. The car sports a dual-screen infotainment system that employs the latest Lexus Interface and a 7-inch touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen to control the Multi-Terrain Select modes and the HVAC system. An adjustable-height suspension is also available at three various levels. A Multi-Terrain Select system with five distinct drive modes and numerous off-road camera views is offered as well. These comprise a new angle that can reveal the ground under the vehicle’s rear. On the inside, the new LX 600 comes equipped with beautiful, soft leather seats. The seats are comfortable with the Ultra Luxury trim level focusing on coddling its passengers. With a cozy reclining seat, this trim offers reading lights, a rear seat display screen, and a special air conditioning system with special upper vents. With all its upgrades, the new interior of the LX 600 looks stunning.

The LX 600 is fitted with a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine with 409 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. A ten-speed automatic transmission is offered as standard. These figures are a decent improvement from the outgoing LX's 5.7-liter V8, which delivers 383 HP and 403 lb-ft with a less-than-decent fuel economy of 12 MPG in the city and 16 MPG on the highway, and a combined 14 MPG.

Although the new LX's fuel economy estimates are not known yet, it is expected to be better than before with the enhanced engine, smaller displacement, and a new 10-speed DirectShift automatic transmission. The new architecture has helped the LX drop 441 pounds from earlier models and has given it a claimed 20% rise in chassis rigidity.

The new LX has superior vibration reduction and comfort as a result of changing the position of the rear shock mounting. It has an Active Height Control system that can continuously adjust the car's ride height. The new version can adjust itself more quickly than before. The system alters the height based on the drive mode and the speed. The 2022 model also witnesses the introduction of an electronic steering and braking system. The brake-by-wire system monitors brake pedal pressure and adjusts braking force to be efficient. The F Sport trim also introduces a new rear Torsen limited-slip differential to sharpen the car's on-road manners.

The LX had a reputation to suffer badly in technology, but the new infotainment system is modern, just like the rest of the vehicle. The digital cluster and the 12.3-inch upper touchscreen with the second 7-inch lower touchscreen and the new interface platform crank the ‘tech factor’ up a notch. The safety tech has also received a big upgrade with Lexus' Safety Sense 2.5, including a standard pre-collision assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beams, and a lane-keep assist. The LX600 is expected to make its way on the streets by 2022, with a price tag of $90,000. The Ultra Luxury version, though, shall extend into the six-figure range.

The new 2022 Lexus LX 600 delivers great agility and advanced connectivity and is expected to showcase tons of exciting improvements compared to its previous generations. The modern cousin of the Land Cruiser is set to rule the streets before the first quarter of 2022.
