The Mars Rover Vehicle Navigator (or MRVN) was revealed by NASA as a concept in 2017. It represented a glimpse of NASA’s first manned car that could one day be driven on the Red Planet. Although the construction of the MRVN took place at the Kennedy Space Center, this futuristic vehicle was actually engineered by Parker Brother Concepts of Port Canaveral, Florida.

The company is best known for its work in building outrageous replicas, notably the Tron bikes and the Batmobile Tumbler.

The Mars Rover looks more like a futuristic military vehicle. It is essentially a demonstration by NASA of a way for future explorers to get around the planet.

This huge vehicle weighs over two tons and is eleven feet high, with a total length of twenty-eight feet. No doubt, it has the appearance of something straight out of a science fiction movie.

The Martian rover will have an electric motor that is powered by a 700-volt battery and solar cells. Moreover, the vehicle will consist mainly of an aluminum and carbon fiber construction to keep the occupants safe from the harsh conditions of the red planet, which are inhospitable to human life.

What’s more, it would have to cope with average temperatures of minus 80 degrees Fahrenheit or even minus 195 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on how far the planet is away from the Sun. The six spherical wheels are specifically designed to travel over uneven terrains such as craters and rocks.

Importantly the Mars rover concept vehicle is not only a form of transportation for explorers, it’s also a hi-tech laboratory on wheels. The laboratory section of the vehicle at the rear can be detached to become stationary for research usage while the front vehicle is used for navigating the landscape of the planet.

Without a doubt, this vehicle would be equipped with every possible equipment the occupants on board would need to survive, including life support systems, communication, and GPS Navigation. In addition, this extraordinary vehicle has the capacity for up to three passengers.

The MRVN may not be the real deal. However, actual Mars rovers of the future could incorporate many elements of this outrageous machine. Essentially, this concept vehicle was designed to inspire the next generation in Space Explorers.

The Mars rover concept is out of this world – it really could be by 2030!
