Rimac may be fairly new in the motoring world in general, but it seems like they're bound to dominate the electric supercar market with the Rimac C_Two.

The Croatian car manufacturer has only been in the motoring scene since 2009, and it's making huge waves already. Just because they're new, it doesn't mean they haven't worked on the next great all-electric hypercar.

The Rimac C_Two is one of the finest and exotic ones out there, and it has helped the brand garner some attention.

Let's take a closer look at the Rimac C_ Two.

What's with the Rimac C_Two?

The Rimac C_Two was first unveiled to the public at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The semi-autonomous all-electric sports car was a way for the Croatian automaker to announce its arrival in the world of high-tech cars.

Croatian-born designer Austrian Adriano Mudri had a hand in designing the exterior of the car considered to be "alive with technology". Rimac only produced 150 C_Two models and is still in homologation at the moment.

The electric supercar did well since its launch. The C_Two sold out only three weeks after it was launched. Productions were expected to speed up after the opening of the new facility in Veliko Trgovišće in June 2020.

The current production rate is one car per week, and deliveries were supposed to start last year before the COVID-19 pandemic. Delivery of production cars to customers is planned to finally push through this year, though.

The Rimac C_Two has quite the futuristic vital specs. The exterior alone already looks like a car out of 2050.

Power alone is exponential for even a supercar. The C_Two boasts an output of 1,914-hp, which trumps even a Bugatti Chiron. It can go from zero to 60mph in 1.85-seconds.

What's good about the Rimac C_Two is that it doesn't drop in acceleration once it reaches higher speeds. Its two-speed gearboxes at the rear allow it to maximize its power and reach a top speed of 258 mph.

Its front wheels have a single-speed gearbox of their own too. Each wheel is equipped with an electric motor which allows it to maintain acceleration in unfriendly conditions. This motor also actively manages the power distribution on each wheel.

The C_Two is equipped with Rimac Torque Vectoring (R-AWTV), which guarantees traction control and stability. It distributes metered amounts of power on each will to make it shift from a drifting sports car to an all-wheel-drive when needed.

Its 120kWh battery has liquid cooling technology in order to maintain optimum temperatures while on full acceleration. It takes less than an hour to fully charge its battery.

The structural skin is made of carbon fiber, which significantly decreases its weight. Its roof is made of bonded carbon, and its crash structures are also made with carbon fiber and a mix of aluminum.

The car already looks like it's built with a superior aerodynamic design. In fact, its active aerodynamics adjusts itself to any situation to provide optimum cooling and downforce when needed.

Even its shoes scream aero with its forged alloy wheels that smoothen the airflow along the sides of the car. Its tires are custom-made by Pirelli to fit its function as well.

The Rimac C-Two has a computer system filled with sensors that assess specific road conditions and adapt to current weather conditions. Features such as automatic braking, evasive control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, fully adaptive cruise control, and traffic pilot functionality only smoothen its handling experience.

Rimac also has this special feature for the C_Two, where you can load certain racetracks and have a driving coach give advice on racing lines. It also influences braking and steering input which makes it the ultimate pit crew integrated.

Ergonomics is also well-considered in designing this supercar. It can accommodate two occupants with their luggage comfortably. Its gullwing doors have their lower sills incorporated into the structure to lessen clumsy entries and exits. The rear trunk is compact enough to offer a plethora of customizable storage solutions.

How Good Is The Rimac C_Two?

There isn't a huge sample size yet of the Rimac C_Two. All these features still seem too good to be true as only the first example sets were produced for 2020.

It did well at its pre-selling stages as the first 150 production units planned were sold out at $2 million each unit. It might be worth it for an exotic car collector, considering how Rimac claims it can complete two full laps of the Nurburgring without a dip in performance. The interactivity between driver and car has never been closer too. The driver interacts with the C_Two via voice control, facial recognition, and a graphical interface. It can also adjust depending on driving habits and usual routes.

Rivals such as Tesla have been incorporating AI features into the car already, and the Rimac C_Two isn't far behind. It will offer level 4 autonomy as it's already close to having an independent mind of its own.

Despite the teasers overpowering the sample sizes, numbers suggest that it can directly rival the upcoming Tesla Roadster above all other electric supercars.

If one thing can be attributed to the Rimac C_Two, it's definitely the speed.
