The small crew of Gas Monkey Garage is able to restore classics such as the 1931 Model A, 1955 Chevy Bel Air, and 1970 Lincoln Continental Mark III. Fast N' Loud takes place in Dallas, Texas.  The head of the crew, Richard Rawlings, leads his team as they search for derelict classic cars.

Less known about Fast N' Loud are the backgrounds of the mechanics involved in car restoration. The crew is primarily from Texas and involves many veteran car mechanics. By pulling together this skilled crew, Richard Rawlings is able to restore cars to pristine condition.

10 Richard Rawlings Comes From A Family With A Passion For Cars

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Richard Rawlings developed an interest in cars early on. Richard's father was also interested in cars and helped introduce Richard to the basics of building cars. In addition, as a young child, Richard would attend car shows with his father. Not surprisingly, one of the earliest pictures of Richard is him inside a Volkswagen Beetle pedal car.

As Richard grew up, he worked multiple jobs at a time, just so he could earn enough money to purchase the cars and motorcycles. Richard's first car was a 1974 Mercury Comet. He earned enough money by the time he was 14 years old to purchase the green Mercury Comet. His love for cars does not just extend to an early interest, he even took a bullet in the early 1990s to keep a carjacker from stealing his prized 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback.

9 Richard Rawlings' Interest Includes More Than Just Restoring Them

Richard Rawlings does not just have an interest in owning and restoring classic cars, he also has an interest in racing them. He has won both the Gumball 3000 and the Bullrun. The Gumball 3000 Rally consists of a 3000-mile course for 120 drivers. As part of the rally, drivers travel on public roads during the day and attend nightly parties.

In addition, Richard has written his own memoir and automotive repair book. The book titled, Fast N' Loud: Blood, Sweat, and Beersdiscusses how Richard went from being flat broke to wealthy. In addition, the book serves as a guide for working on classic cars such as the Model-T and 1973 Ford Mustang.

8 Jason Aker Is From Oklahoma City

Jason Aker brings 25 years of automotive knowledge to Gas Monkey. Originating from Oklahoma City, Jason's daily car is a 2015 Ford F-150. Jason never flipped cars before Gas Monkey Garage. Instead, Jason has always worked as a mechanic.

He has several different pastimes when he is not working in the shop. Jason frequently restores different Shelby models. In addition, he likes to serve as a judge during weekend competitions. When he's not working on automobile-related issues, he likes to garden.

7 Tony Cano's Dream build Is A 1955 Chevy C10

Tony Cano currently works as a painter, fabricator, and body man for Gas Monkey. Not surprisingly, Tony has been working on cars for much of his life. In fact, he first started on cars when he was 18 years old. At the time, Tony lived in Corpus Christi, Texas.

While Tony can be spotted driving through town in his 1997 Chevy S10. He is still waiting for his dream build, a 1955 Chevy C10. When the crew at Gas Monkey Garage finds a 1955 Chevy C10, you know that it will be in good hands with Tony.

6 Jason Aker Is A Card Collector

It may be surprising to fans of Fast N' Loud, but Jason Aker is a big sports card collector. Jason started collecting sports cards while he was in high school. Specifically, Jason likes to collect cards related to Hall of Fame hockey player Brett Hall.

Since it was 1991 and before the widespread use of the internet, Jason would drive down from Oklahoma City to Dallas about once a month just to go to a card shop that had hockey cards.  Currently, Jason thinks that he probably has between 8,000 to 10,000 cards in his collection.

5 Christie Brimberry Met Richard Rawlings Through Her Husband

Christie Brimberry has always had an interest in cars but it was actually her husband that introduced her to Richard Rawlings. Darren Brimberry is a successful hairstylist with two salons in Texas. Darren is Richard's hairdresser and introduced, his wife to Richard. Christie had four children with Darren and two from a previous marriage.

Christie is particularly interested in vintage cars and in traveling. She frequently documents her favorite trips on social media. Christie has been married twice and is currently married to Christie Brimberry.

4 Jeremy Cheatham Is A Truck Guy

Jeremy Cheatham has had a love for trucks from an early age. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Jeremy has been working on cars since 1998. Considering how much Jeremy enjoys working at Gas Monkey Garage now, it may come as a surprise that he wasn't always as interested in working at the garage. According to Jeremy, this is because he knew it would be a "torture test".

Not surprisingly, Jeremy's personal car is a 1990 Chevrolet 454 SS truck.  The 454 SS has recently experienced a surge in young buyers like Jeremy, typically Gen-Xers and Millennials. Jeremy works as a fabricator for Gas Monkey.

3 Aaron Kaufman Is From Crowley, Texas

From a young age, Aaron was interested in mechanical stuff. He would take apart toys, cars, bicycles, and anything he could get his hands on. However, not only did Aaron take apart things, but he knew how to reassemble them correctly even from a young age.

Prior to working at Gas Monkey Garage, Aaron majored in fabrication in college. In addition, he spent time working at other garages. One day, while working at a garage, Aaron met Richard Rawlings, and from there he moved on to working at Gas Monkey Garage.

2 Charles Cimino Has Worked On Cars Since The Sixth Grade

Born in Dallas, Texas, Charles got introduced to Gas Monkey through both Richard and Aaron. Like the rest of the crew at the Gas Monkey Garage, Charles has been working on cars for almost his entire life, starting in the sixth grade.

However, unlike some of the employees at Gas Monkey, Charles did not immediately start working in a garage. Instead prior to working at Gas Monkey Garage, Charles worked in a commercial A/V equipment, he would set up TVs, cameras, and other network-related equipment. His background in electronics have helped make him an asset to the team at Gas Monkey.

1 Mike Coy Prefers His Motorcycle To A Car

Mike Coy works as the master painter and body specialist at Gas Monkey. Mike was born and raised in McKinney, Texas. Mike started working on cars while in high school. He would work at Hot Rod Shops to gain experience.

In addition, he built a ton of SEMA cars prior to joining Gas Monkey Garage. Unlike some of the other employees at Gas Monkey, Mike prefers to get around on his KTM 1290 Super Duke motorcycle.
