Whenever a car manufacturer brings out a new or updated model, they always try their best to avoid the car getting caught up in spy shots. In an age where everything is available almost instantly, that is getting increasingly difficult.

Mercedes-Benz is one manufacturer who has suffered that recently. In images posted onto TopSpeed, our sister site, the new 2023 Mercedes GLE Coupe is clearly seen testing at the Nürburgring ahead of the car’s full public reveal.

The Final View Before The Reveal

This is likely to be the final time we lay eyes upon the 2023 GLE before it has its full, official reveal. And as TopSpeed say, the changes to the GLE compared to the current model are quite minimal on the exterior. But they are enough to give the car a fresh new look.

TopSpeed say the biggest changes are the updated front and rear fascia, which includes a new grille design and updated headlights. There is also a new matrix for the car’s taillights. TopSpeed say the changes inside are, in fact, expected to be minimal, but the GLE should have a new infotainment system and new steering wheel.

Spying The GLE In Snowy Conditions

TopSpeed also have some images captured in January 2022 of the GLE Coupe out testing in some wintry conditions. As we saw in the images of the car at the Nürburgring, the new 2023 GLE Coupe is in a minimalist color, with the red punctuated by some camouflage to keep most details under wraps. The revised front fascia is what is mostly hidden by the camouflage wrap, Mercedes clearly keen to keep the details of that hidden until they officially reveal the car.

The article from TopSpeed also talks about what we can expect under the hood of the 2023 GLE range. They say not to expect any changes, and that the US models will have the same engines as in the current versions.

This sees the GLE 350 with a 255 hp engine, the GLE 450 with a 362 hp engine and the GLE 580 with a 483 hp engine. The GLE Coupe 350 and GLE 400d will both have a 3.0-liter inline-six engine, with 268 hp in the former and 443 hp in the latter.

Expect the new GLE Coupe to arrive either by the end of 2022 or early in 2023.
