Supercars used to come in all shapes and sizes. The 80's and 90's were filled with tons of oddball supercars with really weird designs. Household names like Ferrari and Lamborghini ruled the road and poster-cladded bedroom walls, not just because they were incredibly beautiful to look at, but because they were truly the best the world had to offer. That is no longer the case, however, and if you're looking for the best a car can be, why settle for a Ferrari supercar when you can have the worlds first megacar: a Koenigsegg One:1.

The One:1 Name Is More Meaningful Than You Think

James from the Mr JWW YouTube channel went over this incredible car and even got the opportunity to take it out on the track in a recent video. The One:1 is the epitome of incredible engineering and design. Making an incredible 1,360 (metric) horsepower from its in-house designed 5.0L twin turbo V8, it is the first production car to make over one megawatt of power.

Power is not everything, however, and Koenigsegg realized that, so they also made it lighter than a Porsche GT3 RS. The Koenigsegg One:1 only weighs 1360 kg which unless you already forgot the last paragraph, you will realize that the weight figure is the same as the horsepower figure, hence the name One:1.

Having been around for a while now, there is a good chance that you have heard of Swedish car company Koenigsegg. And unless you were paying attention you probably first blew them off, thinking they were just like any other small time supercar start-up producing more hype and vaporware than actual vehicles.  However, you couldn't have been more wrong.

Christian Von Koenigsegg is an engineer by trade who is adamant on making his cars the absolute best they can be. As James goes over the car, you can see the attention to detail that went into the One:1, and this is just the tip of the iceberg. 3D printed titanium exhaust, single-piece hollow carbon fiber wheels, revolutionary suspension, and GPS-guided active aero are just a few of the incredible features on this car that make it truly a step above all who have come before it. Koenigsegg's extensive use of 3D printing and CAD software and focus on perfection have led them to create a car that is so good that just doesn't belong in the supercar or even hypercar class, so they created their own: the megacar.
