Just when we thought SSC Tuatara settled for the world’s fastest production car, the US-based SSC revealed two more models for their Tuatara. SSC pondered around, wondering what more they could do to a 1,750-horsepower machine twin-turbo V-8 with a registered top speed of 282 mph, which beats Bugatti Chiron on the track. Their conclusion was simple: add more downforce and more aggression to it.

Yes, you heard it right. These two models revealed by SSC, namely Striker and Aggressor, which are limited edition hypercars equipped with more downforce, can bring the heat up to 2,200 HP in the top model variant. They have also proposed more customization options compared to the original Tuatara.

Beasts With Absurd Power Unleashed

For the SSC Striker, this variant is going to be limited to 100 models. The engine’s the same twin-turbo V8 as found in the ‘regular’ Tuatara, features a new front splitter and dive planes, a new rear diffuser, a vertical stabilizer, and a massive fixed rear wing downforce. Tuatara will result in a “three-fold” increase in downforce compared to the original Tuatara. Power for Striker remains stock at 1750 HP. The SSC Aggressor steps in with an upgrade of destructive 2,200 HP to a hypercar, which will likely be the most potent production car out there, beating every hypercar on the list, evoking the words “THAT’S ABSURD” out of anyone who gets to know about it.

The Tuatara Aggressor dons the cutting-edge aerodynamics of the Striker and also comes with a bespoke exhaust system. SSC has packed the Aggressor with a 5.9-liter SSC V8 engine connected to a CIMA 7-speed manual gearbox. As of production, it will only be limited to 10. SSC quotes that the users “are given the freedom to nearly limitless performance, appearance, and experience options not possible in the street-legal versions of the Tuatara.”

How Did SSC Manage to Pull 2,200 HP Off?

SSC Tuatara Striker focuses on aerodynamics and enhancements of downforce and extreme customization options, while the Aggressor gets the insane new power output of 2,200 hp. The cars feature carbon fiber monocoque keeping aesthetics in mind. This lightweight chassis delivers uncompromising safety because of its engineered crash structures and durable design. As we know that performance is ensured by the several fused aerodynamic features and stabilization. SSC has strategically balanced the downforce with 45.4% installed to the front axle and 54.6% to the rear axle, making it an optimal choice for stability.

To create this astonishing achievement, SSC North America partnered with Nelson Racing Engines, which ensured the engine meets the quality, performance, and durability that this generation demands. They forged and built this unbeatable SSC twin-turbo V8 engine with a flat-plane crankshaft, which produces up to 2,200 HP, a breathtaking milestone. The V8 sounds very pleasant at the 8,800 rpm limit, with CIMA 7 speed transmission and an inbuild automatic AMT system that controls the selection of the activity in the gearbox. It includes a hydraulic-driven component and sensor to generate high position accuracy and load control that takes less than 100 milliseconds, which wraps things up from every angle for a hypercar.

Can Any Other Car Even Fathom To Take On These Beasts?

Bugatti Chiron

If you want to pit this monster against a rival, there are very few options available at this present time. A few of the worthy competitors are Buggati Chiron, Hennessey Venom F5, which are the only cars to go above 300+ MPH in the production line. If we talk about the concept cars, even the stock SSC Tuatara beats the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut in terms of speed, leaving Devel Sixteen at the top of the game with the top speed of 347 MPH.

SSC is a comparatively smaller company than big brands like Buggati, Hennessey, McLaren, and Koenigsegg, all in a league of their own. Still, we can see SSC give all of these companies a run for their money with amazing cars that keep shattering the fastest car records. Imagine if the stock Tuatara can achieve this speed what the new production line of SSC Striker with the 2200 HP might achieve in the future.

The pricing range and availability details of the SSC Tuatara Striker and Aggressor are still a mystery. Nevertheless, the premium Tuatara will be in the range of $1.9 million(cost of the standard SSC Tuatara). As car enthusiasts, we are excited to see what breakthroughs the new SSC Aggressor and Striker will add to the market against the other well-established rival brand.
