The Porsche 911 GT2 RS of the 997 generation is one of the most extreme cars that the Stuttgart-based sports carmaker has ever produced. It is not just powerful, but is also lightweight. This Porsche 911 is pretty rare, too, with the German carmaker building just 500 examples out of its production line. For those aching to get behind the wheel of this 997 911 GT2 RS, RM Sotheby’s is presenting a great opportunity.

Someone from Switzerland is selling this 997-generation 911 GT2 RS at RM Sotheby’s in a private sale. Considering that Porsche only built 500 units of this extreme 911 sports car, this is a rare example. In particular, this 997 GT2 RS is a Swiss-delivery example that the owner purchased new from the Porsche Centre Lausanne. It has not changed hands since.

It’s quite easy to see why the owner purchased this 997 GT2 RS. When Porsche introduced the 997 GT2 RS in 2010, it was the carmaker’s most powerful and fastest model. Porsche was not hyping the sports car, though, since the 997 GT2 RS was around 90 hp more potent than the 997 GT2 that Porsche introduced in 2007. Power-wise, its 3.6-liter flat-six engine can provide up to 612 hp of output and 553 lb-ft of torque.
