One thing we can certainly expect from a Rolls-Royce is for it to be a super luxurious and classic car. That is what the brand has become famous for. Cars such as the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Phantom have become synonymous with the brand’s luxury ethos. What we don’t expect, however, is for them to be turned into super wild drag racers. Yet as we can see here, that is exactly what has happened. This is a 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow and it has been turned into possibly the ultimate drag racing car.

The Ultimate Luxury Dragster

This video has been uploaded by Barcroft Cars, and the Rolls itself has been created by Perti Plosila and is owned by Tony Johansen, who says that it is the ultimate Rolls-Royce dragster. Perti says that these Rolls-Royces are normally boring cars, but this car is definitely not boring. It is also his favorite build, others of which include a supercharged quad-bike and a combine harvester dragster. This is a full custom build but does very much look like a 1957 Rolls-Royce with some wild engine fitted into it.

The back of the car is just full of large wheels, and they are certainly incredibly wide. And under…well, in the hood, is a supercharged Oldsmobile 462ci engine, which has a Mooneyham 14/71 supercharger fitted. And if you want extra drag power, there's even nitrous fitted to the back of the car. Inside, while there are luxury leather seats, the metal frame takes up a lot of the room and with the amount of noise it produces, you aren’t really going to be in for a smooth and quiet ride to your destination.

A Loud Rumbling V8

When trying to start the engine for the video, Tony initially couldn’t get it to start! But when it did, you could hear the rumble of the V8 engine, but it would be difficult not to hear it. Tony has no plans to sell the car unless someone offers enough money! Out of all the crazy custom builds we have looked at here at HotCars, this has to be right up there with the wildest of them all, as it combines some luxury with a lot of power.
