Founded in 2016, VINwiki is a team of passionate car guys in Atlanta, Georgia. They love everything cars, whether it's blasting across open roads or taking off-road machines on extreme challenges. One of their latest videos features a Porsche Cayenne, which got turned into what might be the ideal off-roader around.

Why Was The Cayenne Chosen?

The Porsche Cayenne is a very capable SUV and 4x4. But why exactly was it chosen? Well, there's a method to their madness. You see, some off-roaders are not the most comfortable machines. That's why they took on the Cayenne. It was all about finding an off-road machine that can bring you back home in comfort. The Cayenne in question is not a recent model, it's actually a 2004 edition of the car. But that really doesn’t matter, because the car really did show VINwiki – and everyone else – just what it's capable of.

Bryson, who is part of the team, had been trying to build the ultimate-off road Cayenne and he appears to have done what was thought impossible. The Trans-Siberian Cayenne was effectively the inspiration for the car. The car was built to go and explore with and go on adventures not to be a crawler, and it certainly surprised a lot of people. Not necessarily for how badly it failed, but rather for how well it coped with steep climbs, rivers, rocks, and jagged edges. You name it, it did it.

An Efficient Off-Roader

Bryson explains that this was never about building a crazy, big-wheeled, insanely powerful off-roader. It was all about making an efficient, effective, and tough off-roading machine. The power– around the 240bhp range stock, 260bhp tuned– was fine and had no problems. So, it just goes to show what some cars can do when you work hard with them and tune them to be what they truly can be. The light pod was one cool addition, bought from one of Bryson's colleagues Lee, that was intended for another project. There is a winch set-up at the front, bumper bars, and a Eurowise Rack as well.
