This morning at 7:12 am pacific, Tiger Woods was driving his Genesis GV80 when he crashed it on Hawthorne Blvd in Rolling Hills Estates, California. Emergency vehicles were on the scene of the crash 6 minutes after the accident and Tiger was removed from the vehicle with the hand tools and not the jaws of life as previously reported by other outlets.

As of this writing, here's everything we know about how the Genesis is meant to keep its occupants safe, and the conditions where Tiger crashed this new luxury SUV.

The Genesis GV80 Is Packed With Safety Tech

The SUV is fitted with what Genesis calls Anti-Collision Technology that will, according to the company, "Do everything possible to steer you out of harm's way."  Inside the GV80, you'll find 10 airbags that were clearly visible after activation in the debris of the wreck. There's no reason at this time to think that the vehicle itself malfunctioned.

The location of the accident is known to be difficult to drive safely according to residents who mentioned that because of the steep downhill grade; they "go through brakes often" as they tend to ride them going down the hill.

What's fascinating is that according to police, Woods was traveling northbound but his vehicle was found on the southbound side of the roadway. It appears that the vehicle jumped the median and that's part of how it gathered so much debris on its way to its final resting spot. As of this writing, Woods is said to be in surgery with multiple leg injuries.
