Mac makes his money in an unusual way. He is a huge star on TikTok, the short video sharing app. And he earned his fame in an interesting way. He simply asks people what they do for a living. That’s right. Mac just goes up to people, celebrities included and asks what their job is. Amazingly, this sort of content is what has gone viral. And it recently allowed him to do something he has always dreamt of, and buy the very car of his dreams which was a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4. All from asking one question on TikTok.
What Car Is It That Mac Wanted To Buy?
Mac posted a TikTok at the end of 2021, and he said after two years of asking people in nice cars what they did, he finally had a great car of his own. That car was a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4. A car that will cost in the region of $100,000. As you might expect, Mac was rather happy that he was able to get his hands on his new car, and thanked his followers for allowing him to do this. He said “Now I don’t like to get sappy, but seriously, one question changed my life forever. I was just a regular dude with no editing or filming experience and within two years I was shooting videos with the president”.
Mac is alluding to the fact that in 2021 he was actually invited to the Detroit Auto Show that September to do his famous TikTok with President Joe Biden. It was a part of a collaboration between Mac and the President to promote EVs. And with over 37 million views, we would argue it worked. It is remarkable to think that just a simple question has led to Mac performing a TikTok with the actual US President.
Mac Has Asked Many Celebrities What They Do For A Living
Naturally, the US President is not the only celebrity with a nice car that Mac has managed to interview, as it were. In Las Vegas, Mac was able to ask seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton what he did for a living. Hamilton joked and said he was a professional dancer but did a bit of driving on the side. His car was of course very cool indeed, being the 2020 Mercedes W10 that Hamilton won the most recent of his world titles in.
Mac has also been lucky enough to spend time with fellow automotive content creator, Supercar Blondie. While Mac isn’t your traditional automotive content creator, his videos are incredibly popular. And it is what made him so famous. Quite clearly, he himself is a massive fan of cars, hence the desire to own a Porsche GT4. Of course, this is the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4, a car with a top speed of 189 mph thanks to its 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine with 414 hp. Porsche’s are very much real drivers cars, so we highly approve of Mac’s choice for his new ride.
Showcasing His New Ride To The World
The TikTok account of Mac’s showed off his 718 Cayman GT4 in all its glory. And it is absolutely glorious. The car is a stunning, deep gray livery. And Mac has complimented the color of that Porsche with some beautiful gold wheels. It's not the most outlandish color scheme in the world. But we love the fact Mac has let the car itself do all the talking. As he mentions in the TikTok, it’s a little bit better than the old Chevrolet Impala that he had previously as his daily driver!
Proving That The World Has Changed Massively
Mac is a perfect example of how the world has changed massively in recent years. It would have once been inconceivable to many of us that you could make money from simple, fun videos on a social media platform. Let alone then go and buy the car of your dreams. But that is exactly what Mac has managed to do. More the power to him, and he has picked a fine car as well for his garage. We can’t lie, we are quite jealous, and it's great to see someone who does love cars so much get his hands on one of the best in the world.
