The Nissan Titan Warrior Concept was a mere concept when it was showcased at the Detroit Auto Show in 2016. In fact, we might have also had the chance to see the 2021 Titan Warrior in its production guise, if not for its cancelation because of the COVID 19 Pandemic. But things are shaping up for the good life, as Nissan has decided to convert this concept into reality. Nissan Titan packs quite an intense punch among the plethora of Pick-Up Trucks. It gives the homebred likes of Ford and RAM, a hefty run for the package it offers. With the 2021 Nissan Titan Warrior, Nissan plans to raise the bar even further.

Nissan will be pitching in the Titan Warrior with the existing Cummins powerhouse, but the automaker does have their share of tricks up the sleeve and we might also be treated with a more powerful and newly developed twin-turbo unit derived from the ones that currently underpins the likes of Nissan Pathfinder. Moreover, the top of the line 5.6L V8 might also be reworked upon to possibly scare the bejeebers off the Ford F-150 Raptor and the upcoming RAM TRX1500.

Here, we have compiled on all the impressive specs and features expected in the 2021 Nissan Titan Warrior

Engine And Performance

Nissan had slapped in the still-existing 5.0L Turbocharged Cummins engine for the Titan Warrior Concept that was unveiled in 2016. This powerhouse for the 2021 Nissan Titan Warrior is rated at 310 hp and 555 lb-ft and sends all of its smokey torque to all four wheels via a 6-Speed Automatic transmission. This is a robust powertrain setup that has been the choice for even, modified off-road derivatives of Nissan SUVs. This will be the staple powerhouse for the heavy-duty XD trim.

But the real reason to hold onto your horses is the speculation of the gasoline engines that will make its way into the hood. Contrary to the popular choice of using the tried and tested 5.6L V8 that is the backbone of Nissan's current line-up, we might be treated to a fresh Twin-Turbocharged V6 as per Motor1.com.

The higher trims will be powered by the V8 that churns out 390 hp and 394 lb-ft. It will send power to all 4 wheels via a 7-Speed Automatic transmission. We suspect the V6 to be an iteration of the 3.5L unit that powers the Murano and Pathfinder. It will have performance ratings in the vicinity of 284 hp and 259 lb-ft with truck-specific tweaks for better low-end torque.

Plush Interior

Even by 2020 standards, the concept interior layout of the Nissan Titan Warrior Concept still remains relevant. Nissan has confirmed that the 2021 Nissan Warrior will be taking a hefty amount of inspiration from the concept. If so, then it will be the most lavish cabin layout ever seen in a truck and will be backed by loads of technology features. It will be a standard 5-Seater and come in a trio of upholstery options based on the trims.

The base trim that is to be powered by the V6 engine will be layered in clothe upholstery and the more powerful V8s will have the privilege to be laden with natural leather options. The dashboard will be complete revamp with extensive usage of rugged materials that will not leave you doubtful of its off-roading potential. Notable cabin features expected in the 2021 Titan Warrior are:

  • Carbon-colored high tolerance fabric and natural leather options
  • Magma Orange accents across the cabin
  • Dashboard and door panels laden with carbon fiber inserts, chrome trimming and leather
  • Custom steering wheel with access to most of the in-car functionalities including safety functions

Rugged Exterior

The exterior design language of the 2021 Nissan Titan Warrior will be a major shift as compared to the current Titan line-up. Nissan has confirmed that it will be carrying forward the chunky form factor from the concept vehicle and the LED lighting will also be inspired by the same. The muscular form factor will give it the much-needed brawn to reciprocate its performance and added road presence.

Many of these design cues will slowly even make it down the line in Nissan's portfolio and pave way for a unified design language. The rear will only have subtle updates as compared to the heavily modified front but will still make its part of looking different from the standard Titan. Off-road specific wheels and threaded chunky tires will further enhance its off-roading appeal. Notable exterior features of the 2021 Nissan Titan Warrior are:

  • Blacked out front grille with “Titan” embedded on top
  • Flat redesigned full-LED headlamps with always-on DRLs
  • Unique integrated rear lip spoiler on the liftgate
  • Blacked out LED taillamps
  • Magma orange accents in the front bumper and side skirts
  • 18 or 20-inch redesigned alloy wheels

Expected Pricing And Launch Date

The 2021 Nissan Titan Warrior is expected to be priced from around the $40,000 mark. This is pertaining to the fact if Nissan brings the "Warrior" tag to all of its models. It will be interesting to see how they manage to price it aggressively given the numerous upgrades at hand. But it the Titan Warrior is reserved only for the top of the line trim, then it is expected to be priced around the $60,000 mark.

Either way, it will surely be a head-turner and its competition will remain unchanged from the likes of well-established trucks already at bay. But the main rivals for the top of the line Titan Warrior will surely be the proposed Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, Ford F-150 Raptor, and the upcoming RAM TRX 1500. The clear launch date is still pending officially but as per the launch trend goes on every year, expect the 2021 Nissan Titan Warrior to be launched by end of Fall 2020.
