It is probably fair to say that Top Gear has been through a rough time in recent years, undergoing more than one reboot. However, with Chris Harris, Freddie Flintoff, and Paddy McGuiness at the helm, it very much appears to have found its feet once again. It’s even found its way from BBC Two to BBC One, the more mainstream BBC channel. The show also has a great YouTube channel, and to get us through the winter blues they have uploaded a great compilation of Chris Harris driving some fantastic Ferrari’s.

The Greatest Ferrari Of All?

The compilation starts with arguably the greatest Ferrari of all time. The 250 GT, and in particular, the TDF version. This TDF is named after the Tour De France automobile race, which Chris says used to call the toughest race in history. It involved an entire lap of France, spread over 10 days. Its glory days in its long history were at the end of the 1950’s, The 250 GT TDF won every year it competed. Just 77 of these gorgeous cars were made, and the one Chris is driving is worth nearly $7 million. Powered by a three-liter V12 that produces 250 hp, giving it a top speed of 160 mph.

Another Ferrari that Chris was lucky enough to get his hands on was the F12 TDF. A car he said is just bonkers fast. 0-60 in under 3 seconds, and a top speed of 211 mph. Still, the car is less about speed, as it is about downforce. It has a massive mouth at the front that gulps in air, sucking it through nostrils and intakes, channeling the air down the side of the car, through gills, and to the rear of the car, hunkering it right down to the ground.

The Intoxicating FXX-K

Perhaps the most insane of all the Ferrari’s Chris has driven is the FXX-K. No prizes for guessing why it was dubbed as such! This, ultra-exclusive track-only Ferrari was driven by Chris at Daytona on the Roval course. It sounds like nothing else on earth and produces one of the best track driving experiences in the world. And it is worth watching the whole of that clip, to watch Chris go for it in qualifying mode. An honorable mention must also be said to the magnificent Ferrari 488 Pista, that also features in this video.
