The fact that the message was published on the website of the Toyota Gazoo Racing hints at the sporty nature of the new product. So, with a high degree of probability, this is not an electric crossover.

However, the version about the new Toyota GT86 of the second generation sounds doubtful, as it was previously reported that the premiere of the model was postponed until 2022. The new generation Subaru BRZ, in turn, was presented last year.

Therefore, most likely, the companies are preparing the premiere of a rally car that will take part in the World Rally Championship (WRC).

Cooperation between Toyota and Subaru began in 2005 with contract manufacturing of cars. After some time, the brands entered into an agreement to jointly develop a rear-wheel-drive sports car, which was sold as both the Toyota GT86 and the Subaru BRZ. In addition, Toyota is Subaru's largest shareholder.
