The Audi R8 is a pretty impressive car. Fast, reliable, well-engineered, it has it all. It is easy to see why it’s a dream car for many. That includes Kyle of 1320video fame, who started making videos way back in 2003. He met up with David Patterson from ThatDudeInBlue to take him out in his twin-turbo Audi R8 that was 1,200 hp and was completed by AMS performance in just three weeks.

A Fun And Easy Audi To Drive

This Audi R8 is described by Patterson as a fun car and almost too easy, as, after a few pulls, it is easy to just settle into it. Highly impressive is the car's performance on the drag strip. On Pilot Sport 4 S tires, great tires that aren’t made for the drag strip, the R8 is pulling an impressive 9.2 seconds on the 1/4 mile at 157 mph. It runs on just normal E85 fuel, and there are plenty of modes in the R8 such as manual shifting mode. A few drive-by shots of the R8 show how quickly it pulls and takes off.

The Acceleration Of The R8 Is Incredible

The acceleration of the R8 is incredibly impressive and it certainly makes Patterson smile. And remember, it's 1,200 hp that is being put down on the tires. Not an insignificant amount of horsepower at all. Every time you change gear, Patterson says it just does not stop and keeps going. Launch control is where there is a lot of fun to be had as well. And they try it out too, and Patterson’s foot is just put to the floor, and off it goes. Kyle comments how in a car such as the Corvette C5, you could not do that.

Impressive Audi Chassis Can Take The Modifications

The chassis of the R8 is highly impressive, with Patterson noting how it can take the changes and the power that has been added. Kyle says that with sticky tires, this car could probably pull eight seconds on the drag strip, which is an insanely quick run time down the 1/4 mile. Patterson is probably right when he says people ignore the Audi R8. The engineering on it is fantastic, you get the same V10 found in some Lamborghinis at a fraction of the cost. And with the AMS twin-turbo package, you have even more power to play with.
