Typhoons and Hurricanes are some of the most fearsome natural phenomenon’s in the world. We have of course seen the destruction that Hurricane Ian has left in its wake throughout the United States, with houses destroyed, lives lost, and many people left without power. This is proving to be one of the most devastating storms to hit the United States in recent times. However, it's not been the only natural disaster to befall the world in the last few weeks.

Asia has suffered from the effects of Typhoon Hinnamnor, a hugely powerful and damaging tropical cyclone that particularly impacted South Korea and Japan. It became the first typhoon of the 2022 Pacific Typhoon season, and it became a Typhoon on August 29th. As you might expect, it left a lot of damage after it made landfall, hitting the properties of a lot of people. That included a lot of expensive cars that were the pride and joy of many people, as these images show us. The cars damage range from a McLaren, to a pair of Lamborghinis and more, with nearly $1 million worth of damage inflicted.

Don’t Look If You Don’t Like To See Ruined Supercars

Supercar Blondie shared the clearest images of the damaged cars, and the after effects of the Typhoon really did not look good. The images of the cars were all taken in a garage in Seoul, and its clear the Typhoon was able to breach its walls and get right at the cars. The main cars involved in the images are a Lamborghini Aventador, Lamborghini Huracán and a McLaren 570S. The Aventador would have cost its owner around $500,000 with the Huracán at least $200,000 and the McLaren roughly $190,000.

That already equates to around $900,000 or so worth of damage. The images show the cars covered in mud and debris, with the garage clearly soaked in water and no doubt a lot of the internals massively affected by the water that got into the garage. More images show a Porsche in the garage as well parked in front of the McLaren, and that car is also covered in mud as well as covered in trash too. The Porsche looked to have a very special livery on it, making it even more tragic as to its fate.

Additional Images How Off Even More Expensive Car Damage

A South Korean website also uploaded some additional images of the damaged cars, showcasing just how dirty and flooded the garage got. We got more shots of the Lamborghini’s with their wheels still partially submerged, and a Mercedes-Benz is also one of the victims within this garage. The bill is already going up more from those first three cars. The Mercedes looks to be in the worst state with its back lid open and all sorts of junk covering the car. There is still more damage to come, however.

A couple of additional images show a Mercedes SUV also badly damaged by the flooding while we also see a Bentley Bentayga SUV that has suffered in the Typhoon. This Bentley looks to have been slightly moved thanks to the effects of the Typhoon and might have hit some of the cars that are sitting in the garage. Clearly, a lot of damage is visible. The Typhoon though isn’t the only natural phenomena to have damaged and destroyed expensive cars, after Hurricane Ian swept through Florida and one poor owner saw his car suffer a terrible fate in his garage as it was quickly swept away.

When Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida in the United States, it left a lot of damage. Part of that damage was actually done to a particular McLaren P1 owned by a guy called Ernie. He had only recently taken delivery of his P1 that had just 300 miles on the clock, but it was then swept out of his garage thanks to the force of the water and ended up several hundred meters down the street. The latest images show the damaged hypercar taken away for evaluation, although it doesn’t look good for the car based on Ernie’s Instagram account.

Not A Good Week For Those Who Own Supercars

It's really not been a good week then for those who own supercars and hypercars. Of course, the lives lost take precedent as cars can be of course replaced, even those that are in fact produced in small numbers and that are expensive. But as car lovers, we can’t help but feel very sad at the sight of these machines lost for good, especially the very rare McLaren P1. A lot of these cars look like they may have been badly damaged beyond repair, and they will certainly need a lot of work to drive again if indeed they are salvageable.
