It was just a year ago when Nissan announced that the GT-R50 by Italdesign received the green light for production, thereby sending chills of excitement to Nissan fans everywhere. Now, the Japanese carmaker has disclosed that it will unveil the first customer model of the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign in March 2020 at the Geneva Motor Show.

That’s four months away, so let’s be content with what Nissan has provided us so far. Yes, Nissan has supplied a number of the latest renderings of the production version of the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign.

3 Virtually Unchanged Design

Via Nissan

Carmakers typically create concepts with overstated looks. Their production versions usually arrive as tone-downed models. But that isn't the case with the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign – its production version looks virtually identical to the original concept unveiled in June 2018. Nevertheless, some changes should always be expected.

This is probably good news for those who fell in love with the looks – save for its overwhelming power – of the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign. They’ll get to drive a special edition of the "Godzilla" of the auto world in its almost hardcore state, as based from the likewise hard-core GT-R NISMO.

2 Limited Numbers, Unchained Performance

Via Nissan

As the road to production of the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign gains traction, orders continue to pour in. However, the Japanese carmaker will only be building 50 examples for around $1 million each. Nissan is still taking reservations for the limited slots left. Each of these models will feature specs picked personally by its owner – so virtually no two GT-R50s should be alike.

But all models will feature the same dynamic performance made possible by the heart of the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign -- a NISMO-tuned 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged VR38DETT V6 engine that delivers 710 hp (720 PS) of max output and 575 lb.-ft. (780 Nm) of peak torque.

1 Deliveries In Late 2020

Via Nissan

The new Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign is still subject to certification and homologation in relevant markets. Taking that into consideration, Nissan will commence deliveries of the hardcore GT-R in late 2020. The Japanese carmaker expects all customers to receive their units by the end of 2021.
