The Volkswagen ID.Buzz concept is a two-toned microbus with seemingly endless possibilities. This beauty will have cutting-edge technologies that are sure to blow your mind away. More importantly, you can see a glimpse of what the future holds for our everyday transportation needs.

With its sharp angles, enclosed cabin, and a shape that wouldn't look out of place in a Flash Gordon movie, the VW Microbus is widely considered one of the most iconic vehicles ever produced. This was made only more apparent when it ruled (albeit briefly) over Hollywood's silver screen in films such as Animal House.

While the new ID. Buzz concept looks quite similar to its predecessor, the German automaker says it's been "completely rethought."

Future generations will be cruising the streets in style, as Volkswagen has revealed a future-forward type of urban transportation. The next-generation Volkswagen Microbus, ID.Buzz is a bolder vision that depicts an advanced mode of future mobility for thrill-seekers. The upcoming modular electric platform is compressed into a futuristic vehicle that is designed for mass production. According to the company, it flaunts its retro design to reignite the legend of microbuses.

These Are The Best Features Of The VW ID. Buzz

Ultramodern Design

Every car enthusiast can tell that the ID. Buzz is obviously a remodeled design of the classic VW 1967 Volkswagen Type 2 Samba Microbus. The future-based Microbus brings back several things you loved about the classic edition with a touch of contemporary design.

The 2024 Microbus looks like VW's attempt too reminiscence without being overly attached to the past. The softer, more evolved design of this Microbus fits perfectly in the 2020s but still upholds the groovy appeal of the 1960s classic.

Eco-Friendly

We already associate its predecessor with Earth-loving and peace advocating hippies, but this Microbus makes sustainable driving the next cool thing. As one of Volkswagen's MEB platform vehicles, the ID. Buzz gets to be the world's first all-electric microbus.

The eco-conscious Microbus comes fully equipped as an electric vehicle with a couple of solar panels for emphasis. The automakers have already stated that the ID.02 would pioneer sustainable mobility, but they didn't stop there. Between its sustainable charging and its reduced emission, the ID. Buzz is an eco-friendly package of comfort and sustainability.

Practical Comfort

Despite the modern touch, the Buzz is still a microbus, and one thing you can expect from this sort of vehicle is comfort. The 3- and 4-door minivan comes with a spacious interior for up to seven passengers making it ideal for families and sizable trunk space for their vacation plans.

While it is not the automated self-driving vehicle we want (that comes later), the ID. Buzz comes with some of the most practical tech any vehicle should have. The cockpit is within arm's length of the driver, and its dashboard is equipped with ID light tech that will light up with navigation guides, GPS tax charge indicators, and the voice of an automated assistant.

Battery Capacity

There is still so much to be desired in the development of electric vehicles, but the ID. Buzz already sets the tone for microbuses. This groovy microbus is the hallmark of Volkswagen's MEB platform, with a range of 342 miles.

The Microbus concept was powered by a 111kWh battery and two electric motors giving it a system output of 275kW. The sustainable batteries allow the vehicle to supply 230 volts for use with power tools.

The Buzz is also equipped with solar panels on the roof for an extra charge. This guarantees that the Microbus can still run for about 10 miles if the owner has neglected to charge it.

Mystery Engine

We have very few expectations for the engine capacity of the ID. Buzz. No one expects it to have the horsepower of a Ferrari or the transmission to match, but a 369 hp output is pretty extensive on a microbus.

The engine is still a well-guarded secret, but we know the microbus can go from 0 to 60 in 5.2 seconds while its top speed is estimated to fall just shy of 100 mph.

Infotainment And Groove

The ID. Buzz maintains its groovy disposition with a modern infotainment system with a classic passenger-conscious arrangement. The Microbus concept reveals a collection of the latest Car-Net systems mounted on its dashboard. At the same time, the center console and rear seat entertainment is well adjusted to suit passenger needs.

With the standard display mounted on the dashboard, we can expect the Microbus to have primary navigation and connectivity options as well as VW's progressive car tech.

The ID. Buzz is expected to reach the American market in 2023; while it is only the work model, we expect the cargo and self-driving models to follow subsequently.

But until they come, we will enjoy this dose of the future cruise with its groovy appeal and eco-friendly design. All in all, the VW ID. Buzz has some pretty awesome features.
