Jay Grams from Volo Museum Auto Sales YouTube Channel brings us another very special car. Rarity, Classic, Ultimate, Muscle, and Greatest, all describe his latest acquisition. The 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 of which only 96 models exist. As this is the model year with the most power output, it makes it ultra-desirable. The fact that it is convertible just puts it as the over-the-top holy grail of classic cars. This is a classic car even Jay Leno, who owns an incredible collection of cars, would drool over.

The Classic Car Gold Nugget

The 442 dons numbers a matching color code re-paint job. Apart from this, the car is un-molested and un-restored which makes it a wise investment opportunity. The all-original sheet metal shows no dents, dings, or scratches. The Harvest Gold metallic paint and chrome glimmer perfect body lines which we can see thanks to Jay's numerous neon lights.

He tells us that the underneath of the car is clean and everything matches exactly as it should such as the 3.42 Posi rear end with TM code. The iconic dual exhaust system with trumpet tips is also in mint condition. The vehicle even has the original W-30 tell-tale sign red wheel wells.

Even the floorboards are original metal which is a rarity for any classic American car.

The interior of the car is again, all original, and full of the original accessories as well. Rallye gauges and tic-toc-tachometer, AM-FM and 8-track stereo, and quartz movement clock all help make this interior one of the best places to be. The carpets and the door panel carpets are also new. The seats are re-upholstered but the gem is by far the 4-speed which protrudes so elegantly from the floor.

Moving to the front, Jay opens the hood, where we feast our eyes at the other "inside of the beast". The original 455Ci engine shines in its blue, silver, and gloss black colors while producing a respectable 370 HP. The red wheel wells extend on the inside under the hood as well proving this is not a knock-off.

The thing with a car like this is, if you have to ask how much, it's probably not the right car for you. This is an investment and an opportunity. It's a vehicle that isn't so much a vehicle anymore as it is a financial venture. Think of it like buying the Mona Lisa. For those who still need to know, the car is currently listed at $199,998 with an appraised value of $225,000.
